Alex stood still. Stunded was the word. How did this girl know her name?
There was no possible way she could have known it. As far as Alex knew this was a new world. No one knew her. She didnt know them. Thats how it worked... unless they had mindreading powers! No... she seems as confused as Alex was.
So how did she know her name? Maybe they had met before... but Alex raked her mind and no feature of this girl came up.
"S-Sorry?" Alex said. What else could she say. She didnt know this girl but obvisouly this girl knew her.
The girl just ignored her and put down her towel which she had been using to dry her hair.
She walked very slowly towards her, like she didnt want to scare a deer away.
The girl was close to Alex now. Alex was tempted to take a step back but held her ground. She had no idea what this girl was going to do.
She raised her right hand and gentley placed it on Alexs cheek.
Well this weird...
Alex suddenley got a rush of images, of memories and pictures.
They ran threw the field in dresses. Daisys in their hair. Playing tag was their favourite game. They ran through the field laughing before collapsing on the ground with big smiles on their faces.
Alex drew in a sharp breath, she remembered that memory. And all of a sudden Alex collapsed in dreams of memories.
This isnt good... But Alex didnt hear the voice. She only saw the memories.
"Alex?" A voice called out.
"Alex? I give up!"
Someone jumped out of the trees.
"Im here!" Alex said, "You wanna play another round?"
"Sorry," The girl said, they were both about 8 years old, "I have to go."
"Oh," Alex hugged the girl, "maybe next time!"
"Yeah!" The girl said, before running inside the house. Alexes house.

Two girls sat on tree, older than the first memory. Maybe about 10 or 11.
"Do you really have to move away?" Alex asked.
"Yeah," The girl said, clearly not amused, "My Dad has a job offer there, and it pays better. So Mum found a house and we're sold."
"When are you moving?" Alex said playing with a twig.
"In two weeks."
They sat in silence for a while. Both of them wanting to talk but neither of them did.

Alex watched the boxes being packed into the van.
The girl was sitting next to her on the front lawn.
"This is it." She said.
"Its never it," Alex replied, "We will meet again."
"Hopefully."
And that was the last time Alex saw her.
Alex opened her eyes. The girl had stepped back and her hand was by her side.
"I told you we would meet again," Alex smiled, she knew this girl.
The girl looked at her, eyes sparkling, "And I thought you were wrong."
The girl walked over to the sofa, jesturing Alex to come join her.
They sat on the sofa together.
"Ive missed you Zoey." Alex said.
"Ive missed you to," Zoey paused, "How did you get here?"
Dont tell her about me...
"I- I'm not sure," Alex wasnt sure what to say, why couldnt she tell Zoey about the voice. Maybe she had it to, "I guess I just had an instinct."
Zoey shook her head, "I mean how did you end up in this world?"
"Oh... that. Well its complecated."
"You can always transfer the memories to me." She suggested.
"Im not really sure how to do that." Alex said.
"Easy," Zoey took Alexs hand and placed it on her cheek, "Now just think about the memories."
Alex thought of them, it brought back a stab of pain. The fire. The screams of inocent people. The laughter of her sister. Her poor sister.
Zoey gasped, "Thats new..."
"Yeah."
"She really, you know... killed you?"
"Im here arent I." Alex shrugged.
"Yeah, yeah you are," Zoey let out a breath, then looled Alex up and down, "Lets get you some clean clothes.
Alex looked down, she hadnt realised that she was in such a state. Her top was torn and stained with blood. Her shorts were dirty and her skin was muddy and stained. She didnt even want to know what her hair and face looked like.
Zoey stood up and Alex followed. They entered a small bathroom, with a shower and a toilet and sink.
"Use whatever soap you want, and spare towels are in there," She pointed towards a cabinet above the sink, "I will put some spare clothes outside the door."
"Thanks."
"Ive missed you so much," Zoey said and hugged her.
She turned around to leave but Alex spoke, "Wait. Dont I get to know how you ended up here?"
Zoey put her hand on the door, she turned around, "Whats fate is fate."
And with that she turned around and closed the door.
