"oh, yeonjun, is it?"

sip.

dramatic swallow.

"the name's hueningkai."

a puff of air blew the bangs off his face in a mocking manner.

the chair squeaked as he leaned on it.

"but, i guess i could allow you to call me—"

abruptly; a backwards fall.

a smoothie-colored blotch on a snow white coat.

widened eyes.

followed by a scream and a pair of laughs.

all in a few seconds.

mr. lee glanced over at him from his desk with a sigh, as students around giggled and began to gush and giggle at the fallen's clumsiness.

"hueningkai." the teacher tsked, coming over to him hastily with a wad of napkins.

"s-sorry, mr. lee."

a dust of red sprinkled on his cheeks.

and a self-conscious lip gnaw driving the girls crazy.

he got up and cleared his throat, awkwardly settling back into his seat as though nothing had happened.

he turned to his side to face yeonjun and her staring at him, expecting him to pick up where he left off.

"oh, uh s-so i was just saying that you could call me.. um, i prefer kai."

the angels shined upon the beaming figure to her left.

"alright then, kai." he let out a wholesome laugh.

she felt herself enjoying the unexpected sound that was, honestly, bliss to one's ears.

"and who might you be?"

her jaw extended open, with nothing coming out.

words were clogged; entrapped.

she felt her esophagus close up upon being inquired by the boy, along with a thin layer of sweat forming on her forehead.

new people problems.

so embarrassing.

actually more like social anxiety check.

she closed her mouth in defeat.

"she's uh.. aera. doesn't talk much." hueningkai cleared his throat before mumbling casually, twirling his pencil and acting unbothered.

although truth be told; he felt intimidated by this yeonjun.

just waltzed in out of nowhere and effortlessly stole his position as the center of attention - something hueningkai loved to be.
