“You’re quiet today.” I whisper. Trent shrugs. I lean away from him and fold my arms in front of me. I stare at his calm poker face from across the circular table. He’d been spacing ever since we talked about our plans this morning. He was very distant all off a sudden and not as flirtatious. “Trent. Is something bothering you?”

He glances at me. With a deep sigh he sits straight. “Sorry just thinking about something?” He starts focusing on everything else in the restaurant but me. I try looking into his unnaturally dark red eyes dotted with black flecks, the same eyes that drew me toward him and made me fall head over heels. He refuses to make eye contact.

“What are you thinking about that’s making you act this way?” I question. “You never act like this. You’re always happy and flirty.”

He smiles a little. I melt right away. That smile was just wonderful. The only smile I’d die to see. “It’s nothing Castle.”

I blink quickly. “Nothing?” I shake my head. “I don’t think so mister. You know I hate that nothing crap. Don’t give it to me.”

He glances up at me shyly. “Really Castle please.”

I pause staring at his pale flawless face. “Okay.” I fiddle with my fingers under the table. “I’ll stop asking.” Flustered I scan the restaurant not letting my eyes land on him. If I did I wouldn’t be able to stop myself. I’d have to kiss his pink soft lips. I’d have to run my fingers through his silk black hair. And all that would just cause me to rip his black jeans, black shirt, and leather jacket off. Then everything underneath. I bite my lower lip.

“Castle.” I focus on the fish tank near the restrooms. “I didn’t mean to upset you.”

I close my eyes then open them as I turn to face him. “You didn’t.” I gently rub my hands on my legs. “I’m fine.”

He sighs and rests his arms on the table staring at me intently. “I’m sorry I’ve been pushing you away all day. It’s just stress at home and everything.”

I rub my upper arm. “It’s alright. People have their bad days.”

He closes his eyes. “But not when they plan to take their boyfriend to dinner.”

I smile a bit. “I don’t mind Trent.” I reach across the table and place my hand on his. “Why don’t we ditch this and head to my place.” He lifts an eyebrow at me. “How about it?”

He smiles as he shakes his head. “Lot better than sitting in a noisy restaurant.” He stands. “Come on.”
