❖ Chapter IX ❖ A Certain Substitute Member ❖

Y/N's POV

It was time.

For another try in the inkopolis tower, but this time without giving up too early AND only three inklings out of Gloves' team. 

Namely Gloves himself, Half-Rimz and ... of course me. 

I was so confused at the moment, because we walked together in the wrong way BUT intentionally. 

I was struggling between asking them about what we were doing and staying silent and at the end I just waited, until we would be by the goal, if one will ever come. 

And indeed, after about one hour awkward walking and pure silence, we all stopped in fron of a bigger house, which kinda looked like an appartement to me. 

"Here, Y/N, lives one of the S4 alone with his teammates" Gloves said to me and went closer to the door, where he would be.

"Wait ... S4? Who belongs to the S4. Can you say this, even though you already probably explained that once?" I asked and needed an overview of that, because he mentioned this team almost each hour so far. 

"S4. The S4 is a team, built up with four strong S+ members. There is Army, who you already know apparently, Aloha, Skull ... and Mask" Half-Rimz introduced them and pointed to the door, as he said the name Mask. Just as I wanted to ask, if this could be really true, because he even mentioned my childhood friend, someone with some glasses opened the door.

"What do you guys do in front of our door so loudly?" the girl asked annoyed and apparently heard us through the door by our loud voices. I mean, Half-Rimz did this maybe only because of showing the S4 as like gods, but that he was SO loud that even the girl inside the house heard it, really surprised me a bit. 

"Oh, hey Moon... is Mask free?" Gloves asked and urged to the front, that he wasn't in the background anymore. Apparently, only they knew eachother, because first the girl thought we were strangers, while not having Gloves in her whole sight. They greeted eachother and after she nodded, a guy came to the doorframe. 

"Hyuk ... Gloves?? What do youuuu waaant?" the guy with cyan tentacles asked and showed himself with a gas mask, which covered his whole face. He kinda looked scary to me but also dangerous, that I could relate fast, why he's also a member of the S4.

"Hey Mask. Wanne join? We want to show her the ranked mode. If you don't mind, explain it to her as well. We're doing clam blitz today" Gloves explained quickly, and stepped aside, that I was standing in front of him with my whole splendor. Just at this moment he flinched and stepped a bit back, after realizing that I was somebody, he have never seen before. 

"Ohhhh, hyuk. I SHOULD introduce myself. I'm Mask ... hyuk, from the S4" he said tired and chuckled slightly, as the girl from before passed him a roller, which was probably the carbon one but deco as a plus. He grabbed it firmly and grinned, what I saw well on his cyan eyes.
"Are you new here?" he asked and dropped one of his hands away from his roller, just to shake my hand at any moment, for a nice gesture.
"Yeah.. it's a pleasure to meet you Mask. My name's Y/N and I belong to Gloves' team" I smiled and shook it in advance, because I couldn't wait for that.
Afterwards I took Clip-Ons squalchers and tried to twirl them around, while watching Mask, how he swallowed the new informations.

"You offered a place in your team for a newbie? Really, Gloves? That's rare from you, bud..." Mask mumbled and petted his back. He went back into his house and after one minute he came out again and left with us the building, to show that he was in for a battle, even though he didn't say anything to Gloves' question yet.
