Stiles slowly picked up the pace of his jog, listening to the forest around Derek's loft. Every time he heard something suspicious he could feel his hairs stand on end.

His tail stayed under the cover of his blue jeans and the "magical tattoo" under the neck of his hoodie.

The trees whirred by his face as his pace quickened, hit feet continuing to hit the forest floor at a faster beat every few steps. His mind seemed to drift as he settled in to his very quick jog.

While the insane crowding of the past few days surrounded his thinking, running seemed to keep it all at bay. Well, almost everything. It didn't seem to stop him from thinking about Derek, who was probably on his way to Argents right now to talk to him about Gerard.

Derek.

Stiles shook his head to remove the thought and looked back around the forest, lifting his nose up to take in the scent of the water droplets resting on the dark evergreen trees.

Within a few minutes he started to recognize the pine needle covered paths that littered the forest around Lydia's back fence. He began to slow his jog and as his feet slowed so did his heart beat.

The white fencing seemed to shine through the browns and greens of the back woods and Stiles easily picked out Lydia's house in the crowd of other houses.

Stiles slows his jog to a walk and makes his way around her side yard to her front door, noticing Scott's green dirt bike on the front patio.

"Seriously." Stiles breaths out, even if Scott did apologize and help bring him back into this shit-hole Stiles still wasn't particularly fond of the fact that if Scott was indeed inside he wouldn't be able to talk to Lydia about Derek.

Stiles stood by the door for a minute before doing anything else. Suddenly he felt his tail twitch. He heard the muffled voices of inside begin the full his ears. Instead of ignoring the voices he let his hearing take over, and the voices became clearer than day.

"-I just, don't know if Mason is going to get any better." Stiles can hear the True Alpha say, "He seems to be getting worse every time I go check on him. Whether it's the beating of his heart, or the way black crust is literally starting to form around his eyes and mouth."

There's a pause and Stiles can here Lydia speak up.

"What are we going to do? Is there any way we can stop it?"

There's another pause while Scott thinks.

"Honestly, I don't think we can stop it. Adding onto that, I think you've seen it too, but Stiles has basically already cho-"

That's it, Stiles was done listening. In an instant his hearing bolted out of the room and he knocked on the door.

There was silence and Prada started barking at the door.

"I'm coming!" Shouts Lydia. Scott had to already know it was him from just his smell. Or maybe not since it had changed slightly...

When the door opens Lydia smiles and welcomes him inside. Stiles' eyes fall on the couch where the alpha was sitting, and the two lock gazes for a second before Stiles glances away.

"You can," Lydia pauses, looking at Scott, "you can come inside, if you want to."

"I'll come in." Stiles says giving Scott another glance before taking a step inside, closing the fire behind him.

Lydia goes back to sit on the couch opposite from Scott and Stiles follows Lydia to the other couch.

Scott and Stiles look at each other again and hold a not so friendly, yet not hostile gaze. Sure Scott, apologized, but that wasn't going to fix everything right away.
