Fight or Flight

Chapter 2

Bella's Pov

Alice drags me out of the house and basically shoves me into the car, Alice then vamp-speeds into the driver's seat and turned on Carlisle's car. Jacob walks towards the car before he can say anything Alice pulls out of their so fast my back slammed into the back of the seat, I winced from how sore my back is, I was just picturing how bad of condition my wings were in.

After Alice dragged me into the airport and went off to get some tickets I pulled out my T-phone and sent a message to Donnie to let him know I was on my way to Italy to stop my stupid ex of a boyfriend of killing himself. After I sent it Alice had come back and dragged me toward the plane so we could make our way to Italy to save Edward.

It has been a few days now and we are in Italy right now Alice had just stolen a yellow sports car. We are speeding down the country road trying to making it to the Volturi before Edward gets himself killed. I glimpse at Alice in the corner of my eye and notice her stiffen meaning she is in a vision "What did you see" I question Alice, "They refused him" She says.

Great that means he not gonna kill himself right I think in my, but when I look at Alice I know there is something else "So...?" I question "He's gonna make a scene. Show himself to the humans" Alice says. 

I just stare at and think what the hell is he thinks, does he want to die. "When?" I question her, "He's gonna wait until noon, when the sun's at it's highest" "There's Volterra," Alice says. I look through the front window and see a village with a high clock tower up ahead.

Alice is speeding through the village, hocking her horn at the people standing in the road. When I look everyone is wearing a red gown, "Why are they all in red" I question Alice "San Marco's Day Festival. They're commemorating the expulsion of vampires from the city. It's the perfect setting. The Volturi will never let him get far enough to reveal himself." Alice explains, I just roll my eyes and look at the time " we have five minutes" I explain to "I know" Alice says while she continues honking at the people in the road.

There are police cars and cops, standing and watch guard, Alice stops driving and looks and me, " Bella, you're the only one he can't see coming. If I go, he'll read my thoughts. He'll think I'm lying. He'll rush into it." Alice says, I just know where this is going so I open the door and make my way out of the car "Where do I go" I sigh, "He'll be under the clock tower. Go!" Alice yells while I close the door and rush towards the clock tower to stop Edward. I'm running up the street pushing past people to try and get to the clock tower. I see the clock tower nearby and start running towards it when I get towards the fountain I hear the bell tolling and run through the fountain, I see Edward and run right into him trying to stop him walking into the sun. He has his eyes closed and doesn't seem to see me. "Don't you idiot" I yell at him "Heaven," He says, what is he doing, does he think he is already dead "You have to move" I yell at him "Open your eyes, look right at me, I'm alive" I say and he slowly opens his eyes " You have to move" I explain once again "Bella" Edward says

Edward walks back into the building with me right behind him, he goes to hug me and I stiffen at how sore I am and from him touching me. Edward pulls away and looks at me "You're here" Edward says " Yes I'm here" I say with a bit of bitterness towards him, but he does not seem to notice it and just smiles relived. "You're alive" he states "Yes, of course, I'm alive, why would you try and kill yourself out of guilt if I died," I say with sass but once again I am ignored, he shakes his head "I never acted out of guilt, I just couldn't live in a world where you don't exist" Edward explains, my eye starts to twitch with my annoyance for this stupid boy. "I lied. I had to lie. But you believed me so easily" he says and I could actually feel my anger rising with every word coming out of his mouth. "How could I believe" I question trying to figure out if what I was hearing was correct and trying to stop the headache that was starting to form. "Yes, Bella... you're everything to me. You're everything" he says, I'm about to say I hear someone come around a corner, I turn around and two male vampires approach towards us. "I won't be needing your services after all, gentlemen," Edward says "Aro wants to speak with you again," Felix says "No rules were broken" Edward states, I just sigh knowing where this will be going "Nonetheless, we should take this conversation to a more appropriate venue." Demetri says "Fine. Bella, why don't you go enjoy the rest of the festival" Edward suggests, excuse me, who does he think he is, I'm about to tell him exactly where to go but Felix bets me to it."The girl comes with us" "No, you can go to hell" Edward states, I put my hand into a fist and about to punch him but Alice enters the building to join us "Come on guys" "It's a festival. You wouldn't want to make a scene" Alice says. "We wouldn't," Felix says this is when another vampire shows up, this one female. "Enough," Jane says, thank god I think "Jane," Edward says "Aro sent me to see what was taking so long," Jane says while turning and walking away, everyone follows after her.
