Bael and Volian circled the eye of the blizzard surrounding them, battering their armor while their loosened blue robes fluttered in the wind. The barren and icy wasteland started to grow unto Volian's concentration as well as Fiara's soul calling his name ever so helplessly. No mountains on the crest of the horizon. Nothing but the vast gray storm surrounding them, even the beauteous night sky was drowned out by the storm's fury. Their movement almost identical, their eye-contact never lost its absolute fixation. Volian's staff was dragging along the rough ice beneath his feet, slowly etching into the frozen floor.

Fiara interlocked in the clutches of Bael's ice sphere, her eyes filled with despair. The bright blue eyes he once knew were fading to grey. He could feel her soul dying and he didn't have much time to save her. He had to destroy what he had created... himself.

"I've seen this before, Volian." They both halt in their steps. The scratching grew silent.

"Yes... This is your end. It's unfortunate to say, you will not leave this storm alive."

Volian's eyes flared. "Remember this, Bael." He glances down a moment. "You are me."

Bael cannot even hesitate to attack. Suddenly Volian looks up to Bael shooting towards him, engulfed in a icy hell storm. Volian flies backward, his feet carving a trail through the thick ice. He regains his grip and slings himself toward Bael with Pruena Regem guiding him to his target.

The blade and staff slam into Bael's chest with brute force, but he quickly deflects it from his body with his blade. An epic sword fight breaks out between the two. Slashing, deflecting, parrying. Every momentous contact met between these frost-lords, the surrounding world receives a thunderous echo. It's a destructive display of their powers and the universe being their audience. Bael has finally had enough and disorients Volian with mind-shuddering swing which shoots Volian into the icy floor.

Volian couldn't concentrate. He NEEDS her. She is his everything and his ears, mind and body filled by her dying voice, he felt helpless to her. Volian's eyes began to tear up, knowing he's failed at keeping his promise. Everything he had was about to die away to dust.

Volian... Volian... Help me... Please...

He looked back at her, still frozen by the curse his counterpart placed on her. He could feel his grip of her slipping. Mind flooded by anxiety. He's failing to protect her and its killing him, his energy failing him whilst his body collapses onto the rough and cold surface. Bael gently drops to the ground in-front of Volian.

"You see." He says, throwing Pruena & Regem off to the side.

"Love is insipid. It's disgusting. Its only purpose is to kill you, Volian. You're so weak and you're going to let this silly girl kill you?" His laugh roared throughout the icy realm. "It's inevitable. If I can't kill you, she will if your body doesn't kill you first."

Volian pushes himself off of the ground, the black skull that covered his broken face fell to the floor, followed by the drops of blood that bled from his battered mouth and damaged nose. His mortality proving it's worth to him. The blood froze as it met the ice, his strength was fading. Fiara absolutely numb from the ice, now feeling their spiritual embrace loosen. Volian's soul felt silent, he couldn't even feel her heart beat anymore. He lifts his broken body up and back onto his feet, face still dripping blood.

Bael smirks, his adversary moments from the endless void of death. His smirk fell to shock seeing Volian's hand light up blue, He was charging up a rather weak ice blast.

"Come get me." The weakness in his voice is just loud enough for Bael's ears.

Immediately, Bael launches himself towards Volian with nothing but the strength and momentum in his step. Volian's charge growing more and more powerful as he flew closer and his timing couldn't have been better. He throws the ice blast straight for Bael's face while he was most vulnerable. The black skull slings out from the hood he wore. Not a mask like Volian's, an entire black skull shot across the ice and slid at the foot of Fiara's ice prison. The skull merely taps the edge of the sphere, which was enough to allow the ice to shatter. The ice spilled all across the ice and joined itself into the floor. Fiara fell to the ground, lifeless, motionless. He looks to her lifeless body. He couldn't hear her voice anymore. She was gone and he knew it.

Volian's eyes flared, he didn't know what to do. Everything he had now gone from his own mistake. He had killed her, every empathic being within him was replaced by anger, sorrow, and despair. Bael had to die for ending Volian's life before his own death. He grasps Bael's Regem blade. Now wielding both Regems, he blinks to Bael who was shaking from pain. Volian lifts his body with his mind, absolutely focused on destroying what was left of Bael, using every last drop of magic and energy that was left within.

"I... Told you... Volian..." Bael's voice rumbled along the icy world. Volian couldn't bare anything but his own fury. Every part of Volian poured a chaotic frost aura, which drew to Bael like flames to paper. The aura rushing around Bael grew larger, brighter and more violent with the storm. Bael was being torn apart into ice particles. His body slowly fading into the aura, it took only moments before nothing remained but the silence of the storm. All of Volian's strength now gone, his body dropped to the ground, next to Fiara's corpse. He could see the last tear slowly run down her face, frozen on her cheekbone. He knew this was the end and there was no doubt about it. Bael was right, it was inevitable. Volian's mind flashing back to his life, filled with terror and happiness. Friends, family, love, hate, sorrow, smiles, Volian was not sure if he was satisfied with his life up until now. His death to be justified, her death was justified. Their vendetta fulfilled. He drew his last breath and whispered to her lifeless body.

"I love you, Fiara Gelsang."

The air quietly singing to the life now leaving behind two broken bodies in a collapsing frozen wasteland, the world no longer needed them. No more chances, it was done. The world surrounding them was fading into the shadows of time. The apocalypse followed the unbalance Volian had accidently brought back to life. The shadows swallowed the last image of the world, Volian's lifeless hand interlocking fingers with Fiara's hand. There's nothing to describe what the shadows of time looked like other than a candle in a dark room snuffed by the wind. An absolute black remained in the universe, time no longer existed.

My love...?
