•••"Good morning witches and warlocks. You will have a new teacher coming in today to replace Sister Cordelia, may her soul rest in hell." Father Blackwood spoke in his booming voice. The room was full of students and their Familiars. They stared at him with a straight posture and gave him all their attention, which added to his already huge ego.
"With the passing of your teacher, your new class is going to be taught by a very well known warlock that I attended the Academy with. I expect you all to treat him with unholy respect and to follow his instructions. I shall take my leave now, he will be coming shortly to teach you all." With that, he walked out leaving behind a room of bewildered students.
In the midst of the class, there sat (Y/n) who was next to Nicholas Scratch. They were both very good friends, but the girl had grown feelings for him. Although she did her best to hide it, Nick did the same secretly. The two teens liked each other but never showed it in fear that they would ruin the friendship they already had.
The classrooms buzz and quiet conversations came to an end when a man walked in. His presence screamed "death". He was deathly pale and extremely tall. All the witches and warlocks stared at him in awe. He was surely a sight to be seen.
He walked over to his desk with his long legs.
All eyes were on him and yet he ignored it. He placed his papers and folders onto the wooden surface before turning to face the rest of the room."My name is Professor Frankenstein and I will be your new necromancy teacher. I hope you all will enjoy this class because I sure as heavens won't." The tall man then turned to face the chalkboard behind him. He grabbed a nearby piece of white chalk, and began to write the days assignment. He displayed a series of different topics of necromancy.
(Y/n) turned to Nick with a disturbed look on her face. The young warlock tried to hold in his laughs from her humorous expression.
"Frankenstein? This is so cliche." Nick chuckled. The girl nodded in agreement before adding on to his words.
"I thought necromancy was forbidden. Isn't it extremely difficult and wrong." She whispered.
She was right, necromancy was known to almost always go the opposite direction of where it was meant to go. Only the best of the best knew how to do it and there was only a handful of them. Nick nodded before both of them continued watching the ghoulish teacher.
"Today you all will start a project. It will be very difficult but need not worry, you will be partnered with someone of choice. I am allowing you to do so because for the rest of the year you will be doing things on you own." The professor then wrote down words on the board.
"Here are the words you will say when you bring an animal back to life. When using necromancy, we usually control the dead. So this project will be the same, but an animal instead. Not a human being." He pointed at the board with a bony finger.
All the students nodded respectfully. Necromancy was forbidden in the world of witches and warlocks, but was never forgotten. Nick was excited that he would finally be able to do something no one has ever done at the Academy, while (Y/n) was a bit frightened at the things that could go wrong.
"I have placed different animals on your table. They are all in a wooden box and are being preserved." The teacher whisked his hand in the air as the boxes appeared in front of the students. "Once you read the words that are on the board to the animal, you will then awaken it and begin to control it. I'm sure you all know how to control things, and this is just the same but it requires much more concentration and the knowledge of spells. I wish you all luck and now you may begin."

"Nick! It's moving!" (Y/n) exclaimed. Her and Nick had gotten a snake as their animal and now they were finally able to control it. Sort of.
Nick smiled at her before whispering a spell to calm the snake down. It was going crazy. It continuously tried to snap at the two teenagers fingers. Whenever they made a sudden move, the snake hissed threateningly.
"(Y/n)." Nick warned. The girl looked up at him expectantly. "Stop moving, I don't want you to get hurt."
(Y/n)'s stomach was filled with butterflies when she heard his words. She knew that he cared for her but she always thought it was so sweet when he protected her.
"Stop being so overprotective Nick, it's just a dead snake. And technically we control it so it can't hurt me." She reassured to a very worried Nick.
He stared at her intently before shaking his head no. (Y/n) sighed in defeat before stepping forward towards Nick. He glanced to her before putting his eyes back to the annoyed creature.
"(Y/n) please get back. I can not risk getting you hurt." He pleaded urgently, noticing that the snake was slowly inching closer to them. It's tongue flicked in and out of its mouth, fangs glinting in the light. Nick widened his eyes at what it was about to do.
"(Y/n)! Out of the way!" He yelled urgently. She looked at him confused before she felt a sharp pain in her arm. She cried out in agony and fell back into the nearby chair, tears clouding her vision.
"N-Nick!" She struggled out. It broke his heart to see her like this. Tears streaming down her face while blood dripped from her wound. When reality finally hit him, he frantically ran over to the girl.
"(Y/n)! Your going to be just fine. It's alright, I'm here." He soothed as he pried the snakes fangs from her arm. He was angry at the helpless reptile. He knew it was his fault that it had did this to the girl. He tightly gripped its small head and ripped it apart from the rest of its scaly body. Throwing it to the side, he gently wiped the tears that were on her cheeks.
The rest of the class stared dumbfounded at the scene as the professor shook his head in disgust. He walked over to the table and took the beheaded snake and threw it in the wooden box in which it belonged in.
"Praise satan! You two morons have finally killed the bastard. What took you so long?" Professor Frankenstein asked. Nick looked up at him angrily. He had no time to fight with the jerk of a teacher. So he helped (Y/n) from off the chair and lead her out the room. Once they were both out in the hallway, he teleported them into the bathroom.
"Nick this really hurts." She said quietly, her tears starting to come to a stop. He nodded while hurriedly grabbing paper towels and handing them to her to help stop the bleeding. He then wet another one to clean off the dripping blood from her delicate arm. Once she was all cleaned up, he said a spell to heal her wound.
"Thank you Nick." She said gratefully while giving him a hug. He felt an odd feeling once she did this. He returned the gesture and hugged her tighter.
"Your okay now. That's all that matters." He whispered into her hair. He gently kissed the top of her head as she snuggled into his chest more.
"It was an accident, I'm sure it won't happen again." She laughed softly.
"Damn right it won't. As long as I'm breathing, your safe. I won't allow anyone to hurt you." (Y/n) smiled up at him before placing a soft kiss on his cheek. He lightly blushed, something that (Y/n) and no one else has ever seen before. She didn't say anything so that she wouldn't embarrass him.
"Your so sweet Nick." She giggled.
"And your so beautiful."
