"I need to tell you something, (Y/n). It's really important." Nick said as he sat down in the booth in front of me. We were meeting up at 'Dr. Cerberus's'.

I nodded my head softly, not sure as to what might happen. I knew there had been some tension in our friendship lately, and I never knew what the cause was. I constantly worried myself that it was my fault.

"Is it bad?" I let out a small laugh. At this moment, I was really hoping for the best.

Nick gave me a signature smirk, his brown eyes twinkling with adoration. God, I hated when he did that, making my nerves go into a frenzy.

"Shit, I have no idea how to do this." He grumbled to himself. Nick brushed his hands through his black hair, something he did whenever there was something really wrong.

"You can tell me. I would never judge." I spoke hoping to soothe his frantic emotions.

"Okay. But first, you need to understand that what I'm about tell you won't affect the way I look at you. I'm different than you, yes, but I'll always think that your more important than whatever goes on behind the scenes."

My eyes widened in anticipation. Anxiousness and confusion had finally set in, and I had no idea how to handle it.

Nick was the love of my life. Although no one knows, it's the absolute truth. I couldn't see myself with anyone else, even if we just stayed friends.

"I'm a warlock." Nick finally breathed out, slightly relaxing.

I stared at him with a raised eyebrow. Was this a joke or something? Was he expecting me to find this funny at something so idiotic?

"Am I supposed to laugh?" I snapped.

Nick frowned immediately at my words. He hurriedly shook his head, his body inching closer to mine over the table.

"I'm not lying. Please, you have to hear me out." He begged. I couldn't shake off the feeling of pity, he looked so helpless after what I said. I felt so awful.

"Fine, but I need proof."

Nick grinned at me, the smile that I had grown to adore. He looked around the small diner, most likely making sure that there wouldn't be anyone to see what he was about to do.

Nick gave me a wink before closing his eyes and whispering to himself. I stared at him perplexed. He was so focused on what he was doing, and I sat here debating on whether or not I should make a run for it.

Before I realized, I was floating on top of the booth. It wasn't too high because of the table that kept my legs in place.

"N-Nick! Put me down!" I whisper-yelled.

Nick peered up at me with a mischievous expression. I tried desperately to hold on to the wall, thinking that it could help keep me down to Earth. Literally.

"Do you believe-" Nick began, but was cut off by a loud gasp.

We both turned to the sound, our eyes widening in alarm. There stood Prudence Blackwood, an angry expression shown on her face. I attempted to give her an awkward smile before I was abruptly dropped back on to the booth.
