Dakota's POV

Okay, pause for a moment. I'm Dakota Daries, I've moved to Germany about two months ago. I hate it ! I'm literally going to die in this place, what with the infection that started nobody could. It seems that my whole neighbourhood had already been infected, so fast. How could I not have noticed ?! Although, I somehow feel bad ass right now and a little sad that I killed a man. Okay a zombie, but there must have been some part of him that was still man ! However, since I'm finally out of that terrible house, I'm going to do whatever it takes to find Mom and Dad ! I'll have to travel miles to get to their workplace back in the city, and I truly don't know what I would do if I found out that they...they didn't... I won't finish that thought. So right now I'm standing in the spotlight, on my lawn with a horde of zombies staring me down. One sudden move and I'll be a family supper.

"Er, is it too late to consider becoming a vegetarian ?" I mocked, and sprinted to the back yard. I could hear the zombies choking noises catching up to me, each of them in competition to capture and tear me limb from limb. I jumped our petite gate and found myself in the back road chasing my breath. The orange street lights bounced off the tar and ran from alley ways that were left dark and mysterious. The street was abandoned, quiet, empty- so empty not even a stray was seen.

I ran as fast as my legs could take me, passing house after house. I glanced back only to find the zombies far behind and I stopped on my tracks. "Whew, not to self, dead people aren't fast." I stated squatting and holding onto my knees catching my breath. "Ahh, Dakota Daries." I heard a distant voice bellow. I turned my head to the source of the sound ignoring the zombies far out.

I was alarmed to see five figures standing recklessly at a lamppost a few feet away. "Who are you?" I asked, cupping my hand over my eyes blocking out the shining street lights. "And how do you know my name?" I continued moving closer to the lamppost. One of the figures, a boy, I'm sure of it, started walking toward me.

He was close enough now, and I recognised him."
Heinzeffer ?" I asked. "Ahh, you remember my name. I'm impressed." Heinz stated. "What are you... How are you.. How are you not dead ? You live right next door, haven't the zombies somehow managed to kill you or something ?" I interrogated. "Well, I'm alive aren't I ?" He answered, showing off his body.

Dakota's POV

Here's the thing, Heinz and I attend the same shitty high school, Deggerburr High. Yes his popular and yes I have the power of invisibility-even my homeroom teacher forgets I'm there sometimes. And of cause I like Heinz. I'm captured by his sense of fashion, I'm a sucker for his silky soft blonde hair that rests over his ocean blue eyes. His German accent makes me quiver at the sound of it. His rosy pink soft lips mutters the most cutest remarks sometimes. Okay, I'm way in over my head here ! It's literally the end of the world and I'm drooling over my crush! Get a grip Dakota. I must've lost a screw back home in the kitchen with my first kill ! It's just that I'm glad his alive ! With him around I feel so calm, I feel like I'm back home in California- where I left my heart. I feel like, with Heinz around I might, I might just survive.

The zombies slyly caught up. Their choking sounds woke my fear. "Just give me a minute." Heinz declared, dragging me by my arm toward the others. He went back to face the zombies abandoning me. "Heinz! What are you doing ?" I yelled in fear as the zombies were dangerously close. "I'm having some fun!" He answered, handsomely smirking as the others held me back.

Heinz pulled out a gun from his black jeans and started firing at the zombies. They fell down one by one until he was all out of bullets.

Dakotas POV

He looks so good killing people, I mean zombies. Man, I've got to stop thinking about him! And nows the wrong time! I just hope my Heinz doesn't get hurt. I sound like a psychopath, but I kind of like it.

~~~
"Retreat ! We're out!" Heinz yelled, running from the rising zombies after emptying his gun. We started running ahead and I followed the others into a dark alley way at some old enclosed face brick house. The zombies were catching up.
Heinz opened the basement doors and we entered into what looked like a hideout. It was filled with weaponry and cupboards- probably stacked with food. A huge flat screen hung on the wooden walls and a PlayStation accompanied it. On the adjacent wooden walls were rifles, AK-47's, machine guns, samurai blades, butcher knives, you name it, it was everything needed for the end of the world. The huge sofa brought comfort and hope. There was a dart and pool board available and ooh a bar. Yes, there was a bar.
"Welcome to your new home Dakota." Heinz remarked, spreading his arms open showing off the place. I was shocked at the say of this. "I'm sorry, what ? My new home ? Are you nuts ?! I would never live here, wi-with you." I murmured as the others tiredly lunged onto the sofa. "So where are you going to live ? In the streets and get eaten ?" Heinz asked annoyed at my rude disapproval. "Anywhere but here, wi-with you." I ended off, murmuring again. "Do you have a problem with me Daries ?" Heinz questioned, giving off a puzzled look. "Probably! First off, you fire that gun of yours that probably isn't approved while I was a few feet away, hello, I could've gotten shot ! And secondly, I barely know you and you forcefully drag me to this paradise dump of a hideout that by the way doesn't look like one but rather a hangout..."- but before I could finish, Heinz closed the gap between our faces and kissed me. His soft lips intertwined with mine bringing a warm embrace that instantly calmed me down. His manly hands gripped gently onto my back. And then, he pulled away. It felt impossible to open my eyes again. "Am I forgiven, Daries ?" He breathed.
