Chapter 8: Back to the Cave

Sasha's POV
We ran as far away as we can from the camp and unfortunately, we decided to scatter and hope that we got away..

My heart was beating faster than usual, My head was aching and sweat was trickling down my forehead..

I stopped behind a big old tree and rested my back on it..

Then I heard gunshots near me..

Even though I was tired I used all of the energy I still had to run and find the safest place...

I accidentally bumped to something

I look up and saw it wasn't a something.. It was a someone..

"Jake!" I yelled and hugged him

His shirt was a little ripped and bloody, wounds covered his arm and his lip was a bit bloody too..

"You could take a pic but you don't have a phone" He joked

"You're hurt.." I said as I wiped off some blood on his lips

"I'm alright, I was just caught and luckily I survived, I'm glad you're alright.." He said as he caressed my hair with his fingers...

We let go and started walking away and soon we found shelter at a cave near a beach..

The rain was pouring so there's no chance we could head back to our camp this morning..

"Sasha?" Someone called my name

I immediately grabbed my dagger and pointed it at the person

"Oh.. Chris.." I said as I put it away

"Why the sudden visit? I heard you became missing 2 years ago" Chris asked

"I... Actually forgot this was here" I shrugged

"Come inside and we could heal your boyfriend's wounds" I blushed at Chris's sentence

"But--"

"Explain later, he can die because of blood loss" He cut me off

I brought Jake inside with the help of Chris...

We treated his wounds and covered them with bandages...

"You need to stay here and take care of your friend, let your friend recover and wait until the rain stop, I'll be at the library with the others of you need me..." Chris said then he left the room leaving the both of us in their 'clinic'

The sun slowly set and it was replaced by the moon, the rain was still pouring and I stood up

"I'm gonna go find us dinner, well... I'm gonna look for Chris actually, since this cave is so damn big!" I explained and he just nodded and lay down

I explored the cave and about 40 minutes or so, I found Chris with --who I assume-- Kaleb...

"There you are!" I 'accidentally' yelled in anger (maybe because I looked for him for an hour?!)

"Shh!!! What do you need? And can you keep it down? You're in a library" He shushed me

"I need dinner" I replied

"You can get some in the kitchen or you can go back to the clinic because I sent someone to feed you! Now go before I kick your butt!" Chris whispered-yelled at me and I scoffed

"Kick my butt?! Ohohoho, remember the time that I kicked yours--" Chris walked up to me and tried to kick me off of my feet but I dodged his attack by jumping over.

I grabbed his hand and put it behind his back

"Correction, kick your butt!" I said and pushed him towards his friend

I went back to our room and ate some food and I slept...
