Right what to wear...

Look pretty, but not desperate.

That's harder than it looks...

Okay, what's the weather like? warmish, slightly muggy, slight breeze.

High west denim shorts, white tank top, shabby beige knitted cardigan, black floral daps.

"Mum, I'm going on a picnic with a friend, I'll be back around eleven!"

I shout, stood with the front door wide open, with a picnic bag in one hand and a blanket in the other.

The place I have in mind is a minuet walk away from our estate.

"Hey Beverley, ready for our date?"

That gave me goose bumps. His voice is so sexy, it sends a chill down my spine every time.

"Yeah, let's go"

I say, joining brad at the end of the path and walking in a slightly awkward silence.

"So uh? where are we going exactly?"

Brad asks me, sounding nervous. I don't know why he's so nervous? it's not like I'm luring him to his death.

"Just up this road here is a public park with a massive field we can sit and stargaze"

I reply, Brad still looks nervous though, I wonder why?

***

"Do you know any constellations?"

I shake my head in reply as I take a sip of my drink.

"I don't go out enough to know what the constellations are"

"So, what do you do all day? I don't see you out and about much?"

I hesitate as to whether I should tell him that I'm not like normal teenagers.

Screw it, I got nothing to loose.

"I read, I read books"

"Such as?"

I'm taken back by how interested Brad is in what I read.

"Urm, The Hunger Games series, The Fault in our Stars..."

"No way, me too! well on The Fault in our Stars though"

Holy freakin' shit! Hot guy, just got hotter!

"Really?"

I reply, tone of surprise.

"Yeah, seen a lot of spoilers on FaceBook and Tumblr, so I decided to see what all the fuss was about and it was amazing, heart breaking, but very well written"

"Yeah, I seem some spoilers, but I think that Peter Van Hauton character is underestimated. Yeah he acted like a prick towards Hazel and Augustus when they visited him but, he wrote An Imperial Affliction about his daughter, he attended Augustus' funeral, so I don't think he's that bad of a person"

Shit. I think I just bored Brad to death with my constant babbling.

"You know, I haven't found anyone else who felt the same way about Van Hauton, my brother Josh thinks it's sad that I read though"

"I've got nothing against your brother but screw what he says, no offence"

Brad just laughs it off, he had such a sexy smile.

"You're funny Beverley"

And you're so god damn sexy!

I can feel my face heat up, I'm blushing red like a tomato.

His expression changes from humorous to serious, he leans his face towards mine slowly.

I don't know what to do, all my emotions are running wild. Thoughts running through my mind of a perfect moment I thought would never happen.

Brad slowly reaches his hand up to the right side of my face and untangles a leaf from my hair.

He twists it around in his fingers before tossing it aside and sitting back down.

I thought he was going to kiss me. Maybe I'm just jumping ahead of myself?
