The Day After

February 5th, 2002

        After the child had been left to the care of the older children, he was put in Chenle's crib and they rounded up the young one and got them in their beds. The older started on chores around the house, the eldest headed to the kitchen to help the cook start of a simple breakfast for the group of fifteen children. While he did this, and the others were spread through the house a pair upstairs had crawled out of their beds and sneaked into the room with the baby.

       "Baby so small", the older of the two said as they looked at them. As he reached out to brush the tips of his fingers along the small boys fin like ear the baby opened his eyes. This made the young angel nervous to move in case he startled the baby merperson. He may have been cautious, but his companion was not.

        "Hello baby!" The gorgon exclaimed, startling not only the angel, the merbaby, but also awoke the sleeping banshee. Which of course set off the two babies into tears, which in turn made the angel upset and start tearing, which of course alerted the boys who were downstairs cleaning.

        It didn't take long for a certain werewolf and nymph to make it to the baby nursery, and they seemed upset that the two of them awoke the infants.

        "Why are you two in here, they need there sleep or they will be cranky all day." Taeyong said as he picked up the newborn, behind him Hansol did the same with Chenle shaking hiss head at the two boys.

        "We sorry, didn't mean to" was all the silent angel said. After the two elders quieted and put the infants back to sleep they guided the other two downstairs to help, Taeil and Johnny in the kitchen. Within an hour the kitchen was a mess, but breakfast was done and that is all that mattered. So after setting the table Taeil sent Jungwoo and Lucas with Yuta and Ten to wake those who were sleeping upstairs.

        Yuta took Jungwoo and walked into the room housing two one year olds, one of which was a young nereid and the other a young centaur. While Jungwoo carefully woke up Jeno, Yuta had to really fight to get Jaemin the wake up (he was surprisingly stubborn). After they finished getting the two up and ready they went to check on Lucas and Ten who had to wake up Donghyuck and Jaehyun. 

        When they had arrived they saw the mess that had occurred, apparently they decided the use of loud bangs would be the best way to wake them up, which of course set off Jaehyun into a panic while Donghyuck sat there laughing (many of them are still convinced he is some form of demon, not the witch he really is). It took about five people (Yuta, Taeyong, Taeil, Ten, and Hansol) and ten minutes to get Jaehyun away from the mind set he was in, to really bring him out of his past memories. After they succeed in doing that they got them ready for breakfast and headed downstairs once more.

        Sitting at the table was Johnny and Dongyoung who decided that staying downstairs instead of coming upstairs to easy the kid having a panic attack was the right course of action.

       "You know you could have come upstairs and help" was all the werewolf said as he strapped the child he was holding into his highchair. 

       "We thought having too many people in the room would set him off more, we didn't want to crowed him." Johnny said as he scooped some food into a bowl, before he moved over to help feed Donghyuck, who wanted to play with the food more than actually eat it.

        After about half an hour of trying to feed three one year olds, a banshee who was a few months old, and a crying merbaby who was only a few hours old, the older kids split between two groups, one began to clean up the mess left from the younger throwing their food while the other gathered the younger group to bring them upstairs to get them properly dressed for the rest of the day.

        After the youngsters were dressed and gathered into the living room did the older take turns distracting them while they got dressed for the day. Once everyone was dressed they brought the youngest into the play room that doubled as a classroom, there they would spend a few hours receiving lessons from the tutor the manor's owner hired while the toddlers would play. Lessons began at seven and ended at two, with a half an hour break at noon for lunch. Today's lessons had a few more interruptions than normal due to Jisung's constant cries that also set off Chenle.

        Once they finally finished with lessons for they day, each of the elder kids gathered a younger and headed to the living room where they would spend the rest of the evening together until dinner. 

       Dinner was a whole other mess that they would have to deal with, because while breakfast and lunch didn't cause too much of a mess dinner did. Dinner gave the toddler's even more food to throw and play with, which ended with more food on them then it did in them. Which caused an even bigger problem for the older children, bath time. 

        Bath time was a problem because Jaemin and Jeno wanted to be bathed together, but not with Donghyuck, who wanted to bath with them. Lucas and Jungwoo also insisted to bath together, and often tried to bring Chenle into the bath with them, but he was still too small for that tub and had to be cared for separately from them. And now they had Jisung to bath as well, which became an immediate problem because as soon as they got him into his bath he transformed like Taeil does while in water, so they had to carefully wash his tail as well.

       It took about a full hour to get everyone washed and ready for bed. They still had about two hours before lights out so all fifteen gathered in the living room to enjoy a movie before bed. After the movie Johnny gathered up Donghyuck and took Jaehyun by his hand and got them in be while Dongyoung took Jeno and Jaemin up to bed. Taeyong was stuck with trying to get Lucas to sleep, he was just lucky Jungwoo also slept in that room and he actually listens when it is bed time. Taeil had the job of getting Chenle and Jisung to sleep which was easy as they were both so young and sleep most of the day anyways. The night was silent as the boys slept with the few cries of a young child needing to be changed of fed.
