*Rose's POV*

It's been almost two weeks since the last time I saw Eric and he hasn't called or even sent a text since and at this stage, I don't even know where he is. I went to his apartment building but the door man wouldn't let me into the building. I would go to the police to report him missing or at least talk to his family, but something is telling me that I shouldn't do either. I'm trying my best to stay positive but Eric just vanished and I'm not sure if he's ever coming back.

"Did he call yet?" Carrol asks as she enters the apartment after doing a full day's work. I know I should probably start looking for another job but that's honestly the last thing on my mind.

"No, Carrol, he didn't." I'm curled up on the sofa trying not to jump to the worst possible conclusion.

"I'm sure he will, eventually." I can clearly hear the doubt in her voice. "I kind of have a date tonight, but I don't want to leave you here all alone again so I'm going to cancel."

"You don't have to do that, Carrol, I don't mind being alone. Go on your date and have fun." I try my best to give her a sincere smile.

"Are you sure?" Carrol looks at me sympathetically, I hate that look. I just smile and nod. It's enough for her to head to her bedroom to get ready for her date. I miss Eric more and more by the minute. Why would he disappear out of my life after saying that he loves me? It doesn't make any sense. He'll come back, he has to.

"I won't be home late," Carrol says next to me, I didn't even realise when she came out of her bedroom.

"Have fun." She shoots me a wink before heading out of the apartment. I decide that it's time to get off the sofa I've been planted on all day and go for a shower. I wash my hair and body with no particular interest in the action. I can't stop thinking about the last time I saw Eric. Something about him was... off, but I just can't figure out what that something is.

When I get into my bed after the shower and close my eyes, all I can see is Eric's beautiful face. I miss everything about him and not even knowing where he is is driving me crazy. I finally break down and cry myself to sleep yet again.

I'm outside, surrounded by fog and I can barely see a thing. I can hear a crow somewhere in the distance and a cold wind is blowing in the air. I have no idea where I am or what's about to happen, but I know for a fact that I'm dreaming.

"Rose," the beautiful voice comes from behind me and I immediately spin around to see who it belongs to. I'm faced with the most beautiful woman I've ever seen. She's dressed completely in white and it makes her look pure in the darkness. She has long black hair, flawless skin and piercing blue eyes identical to Eric's and when she smiles at me, I instantly know who she is.

"You're his mother," I whisper and she just smiles in reply. "What am I doing here?"

"I brought you here because you're my only hope," her voice is so beautiful that I'm nearly hypnotised by it. "My son needs your help."

"What do you mean? Where is he?"

"I can't tell you where he is, no one can, you'll only find out once you go there to get him. He's suffering unimaginable torture as we speak and you're the only one that can save him."

"What should I do?" I realise that I'm crying again. The thought of someone or something hurting Eric is breaking my heart.

"I can tell you no more than I already have. They're always watching and they know everything, I fear that if I tell you more than I should, they will just increase his torture. I have taken care of everything, you will find out what to do when you wake up." She takes a step closer and puts a warm hand on my cheek. "Thank you for loving my son, and thank you for making him love you." She smiles before turning to dust and floating away. I'm pulled out of my dream by the sound of my phone ringing next to me and I don't hesitate before answering it.
