*Rose's POV*

The day after the party, Eric and I made an appointment with Aniel hoping that she'll be able to tell us if everything is okay with the baby. Since going to a normal doctor isn't really an option for us, we need to rely on her craft to give us the answers we need. She invites us into her home without hesitation and there's a strange smell hanging in the air.

"Please ignore the smell," she says as if she can read my mind. "I'm in the middle of brewing some potion. I take it congratulations are in order? Eric finally popped the question."

"He sure did," I can't fight the smile that involuntarily comes to my face and I'm pleased to see it reflected when I look at Eric.

"So what brings you here today?" Aniel asks and returns our smiles.

"It appears that Rose is pregnant," Eric says. I'm still not used to the idea.

"That's not possible," Aniel replies, her smile vanished into thin air.

"I can hear what the baby is thinking, Aniel." She just frowns at Eric before taking a step towards me. She puts a hand on my belly and closes her eyes, it looks like she's concentrating incredibly hard. About ten seconds later, she opens her eyes again and quickly takes a step back, she almost looks eager to put some distance between us. Her green eyes are wide, her lips are parted and the hand she had on my belly just a moment ago is now resting on her chest.

"I can't be a part of this," she whispers and I instinctively put a protective hand over my belly.

"What do you mean?" Eric asks and tightens his already firm grip on my hand. Aniel makes us follow her to the room where she keeps her potions and spell books. She takes one of the books off the shelf and vigorously starts flipping through the pages until she finds what she's looking for.

"My ancestors predicted this," she says and puts the open book on the table for us to look at. "You are carrying the antichrist, Rose." I look down at the pages of the book and I'm mortified. There are images of a baby with the face of a demon, I'm so disgusted by the pictures that I don't bother reading the words. "You need to get rid of it, immediately."

"No!" I almost scream and run out of the room with Eric and Aniel both hot on my heels.

"No one is going to hurt my daughter," Eric says as he comes to stand next to me. "Rose and I will deal with whatever comes our way, but we can't do it without your help."

"I'm sorry, Eric. I love you and I'll do anything for you, but I can't be a part of that abomination. You have no idea what you're getting yourself into. That child is going to ruin the world."

"We'll deal with that when the time comes," Eric says to Aniel, his voice sounds cold. I follow him out of the house and back to his car.

"What are we going to do?" I ask once we're in the car.

"We're going to do what we have to do. We are going to bring our daughter into this world and raise her to always do the right thing."

"What if Aniel is right?"

"Like I said, we'll deal with that when the time comes." He kisses the palm of my hand before starting the car and driving towards his apartment, both of us equally uncertain of what our future holds.
