Taehyung paced back and forth in front of his boss's door. The crying got louder and he knew he couldn't cause any commotion or else people would start talking and he didn't want to create any problem for his boss. Aside from it being his job, he really does care about Namjoon. He always treated Taehyung as a friend and there were moments where he's cocky but it's just in his personality. Taehyung learned a lot by being around Namjoon and he wanted to stay by his side for a long time.

The elevator dinged and you ran outside to meet Taehyung. There was a silent exchange of words and Taehyung stepped back for you. You knocked softly. "Namjoon, it's Y/N. Can you let me in, please?" No answer. You resorted to the last option, "Joonie, it's me. Please open up, I want to see you."

After awhile, there was a response. "No," he said faintly. You shuddered, he did turn but it doesn't make any sense, the medicine was in there. You dug inside your bag for the spare key that he gave you. Not even Taehyung had one. When you went inside, you could see hugging his knees by his desk. On the floor were wrappings from the medicine. From the look of it, he had already taken 4 times the amount that it would normally take to heal himself.

Cautiously, you approached him. He stared at the ground, body visibly shaking. You crouched down to meet him at eye level. His eyes were filled with terror and tears. "Joonie, how old are you?"

"S-six." he stuttered. Your heart dropped, he used to stutter when he was six and was forced to stop by his uncles. Every night, he would cry and you could only watch from your house across from his. In secret, you would help him speak by reading slowly and having him sing as practice. He didn't like it because he thought he couldn't sing well but you knew otherwise. His voice was the one you always wanted to hear. "Y/N, I'm s-s-scared." he said.

You push his knees away gently and pulled him into a hug. "Don't be scared. I'm here." you whispered. He began crying harder.

"I w-was alone. Y-you weren't here. I-I don't want you to be m-mad at me."

"Why would I be mad at you?"

"I-I know I did something b-bad. You didn't answer m-me on the magic stone." he said. Magic stone was what he used to call cellphone. He said it was magic because he could use it to hear your voice anytime he wanted.

"I'm sorry. But I'm here now, and I'm not leaving you." He nodded onto your shoulder. You felt terrified because if the medicine stopped working altogether, what will happen to Namjoon now? Jungkook and you could develop something new but that would take months to do, something Namjoon couldn't afford.

"Y/N, why are you crying?" he asked. You had been sniffling without your knowledge.

"Because it's my fault that you're in this situation. I should have answered your phone calls, I should have went to see you."

"Ssshhh," he hushed. "Don't cry. Joonie doesn't like to see you cry." He pushed back and wipes your tears. "Joonie loves Y/N, okay?" You gasped a little. He used to say it all the time before he learned what love really meant, you thought it was just him being your best friend. But it was nice to hear him say it, it felt refreshing and painful at the same time. If it was him at this moment, he wouldn't mean it.

"I love you too, Joonie."

"Y/N, I'm tired." he whined. You helped him to the couch and he laid down. "I want to sleep with Y/N." he pouted.

"There's not enough room on the couch Joonie." you said.

He shook his head. "I buy things to fit us both." he said and gestured for you to join him at his side. Shyly, you laid your body next to him. His hand wrapped your back while the other held your hand. You could hear the pounding of his heart and yours, they were in unison. There had been countless nights where you picture yourself sleeping beside him in the most innocent way possible, where your hands would touch and he would smile, in complete satisfaction that he had you. But those nights were never real. And neither was this one. You didn't know how much time has past but eventually, you both fell asleep.

When Namjoon woke up, the first thing the felt was a headache, the constant pounding in his brain as if he was getting a hangover, but he hadn't drink anything since the night you left him in that alley way. He remembered storming back to his house and downing any alcohol he could find. In the heat of the moment, he sent instructions to the floral shop to send you flowers everyday until you had forgiven him. Namjoon didn't think you would ever forgive him, he certainly wouldn't. He stirred a little bit before realizing that he was quite uncomfortable being squished on the couch. But when he saw who he was with, he relaxed. You laid perfectly on his chest as your hands were still intertwined. He took a deep breathe, engraving this moment into his brain before he would ruin it. Namjoon cleared his throat extra loudly.

You pushed yourself up and the momentum caused you to fall backward. He caught your shoulders before you could fall off the couch completely. The power of his hands and the curious gaze he gave you meant that he was back. "Thanks." you said, getting off from the couch and fixing your clothes.

"What are you doing here?" he asked.

"I got worried, Taehyung said you locked your doors and then he heard you crying." you answered.

"The pills didn't work." he said, grabbing a hold of his head. "I drank so many but I still couldn't go back to normal. But now I'm all better, how could that have been?" he asked, looking up at you. In reality, he knew the answer. It was because you were with him. You were the one that was able to calm him down. Whenever he was like this, there was no one else he wanted beside you.

"To be honest, I have no idea. Maybe it was a miracle but we still shouldn't take any chances. Jungkook and I will try to create a stronger dosage." You felt flustered the longer he was staring at you. He was back and his aura alone made you go crazy. You grabbed your stuff and headed for the door. He held your wrist.

"Thank you for coming. And I'm so sorry for how I acted the other night. I was a jerk. I apologized to Seokjin already, don't worry."

"I-it's okay. I'm sorry too for not answering your calls or text messages."

"Y/N, it pained me so much when I couldn't hear your voice. I went crazy, it was the first time I had truly gone mad." he confessed. It only made you more guilty. You turned and gave him a small smile.

"I'll be here, I'll always be there for you, best friend." You shook his hand off you and left. Six, he thought, he had turned six, the age he realized what love was.
