That's Where You're Wrong

I woke up about an hour later. Darn, still an hour left. I picked up my phone to see two texts from Matt.

I'll see you soon, Hurri-Kane. Can I call you that? Can't wait to see ya, kid.

Sorry about that. Alex took my phone. He's very excited to see you.

I chuckled. I was starting to like this Alex guy.

No worries Matt. Where are we meeting once I arrive? I've been to this train station quite a few times so I know where I'm going

I thought I sounded so stupid in my messages, but I was so anxious I wasn't quite thinking straight. Not that I ever did that.

Let's just meet by the ticker barrier or summat

I noticed myself blushing. Oh no, why was I blushing?

Sounds good! Can't wait <3

Then my heart dropped. Why did I put that? I shoved my phone back in my pocket and continued watching the rain.

We finally pulled into Sheffield. 11:15. Right on time.

I hopped off the train with my bags and practically skipped to the ticket barriers. I was looking for a tall guy with this almost perfect brown hair. Right as I stepped out I noticed the beautiful man, standing besides- wait, what? Was that Alex? He was easily the most adorable human I had ever seen. He had a similar haircut to me, but he wore it so much better. He was holding up a sign that said Hurri-Kane on it. I smiled as I walked towards them.

"Miles!" Matt exclaimed. I wanted to hug him but my heart lead me to Alex instead. Almost like my heart sent him a signal, he welcomed me into his arms. He hugged me tighter as I noticed how warm he was. He hugged me even tighter and I felt my heart soar.

"Well, I guess I should introduce myself properly. I'm Alexander David Turner, but you can call me Mr. Turner" he smiled. I met his beautiful brown eyes, full of wonder and mystery. "Hiya Ale- Mr. Turner. I'm Miles Kane" "He's kidding. Call him Alex." Matt chucked. I turned to face him. "How's it going Matt?"

I'm sure Matt said something, but I couldn't stop thinking about Alex.

We got in Matt's car. I sat in the back while Alex and Matt were up front. Sure, I thought Matt was cute. But Alex? He was special. A once in a lifetime kinda guy. I couldn't help but look at him through the rear view mirror.

I guess he noticed I was staring at him because he said "You like my haircut, Mi?" I blushed. That was such a cute nickname. Nobody's ever really called me a nickname before. "Oh yeah, sorry. I just got lost in thought I didn't realise I was sta-" Alex stooped me. "It's ok, Mi. It was kinda adorable"

Those words seemed to linger in my mind for the rest of the day.

This Alex guy I met 30 minutes ago just called me cute. Alex called me cute. I love Alex. I- am I falling for Alex? No. Don't be ridiculous, you like Matt still. Do I? No. Alex is cuter. He was made for me.

"Miles? Hey Miles? You alright?" Alex was shaking me from the front seat. "Huh? Oh yeah. Sorry I guess I just can't stop thinking" I replied. "Oh yeah? What are you thinking about in that big head of yours?" Alex asked.

I tried to explain to him everything I could without mentioning my old crush on Matt or my new crush on him. We finally arrived at an apartment building. "Welcome home, Mi!" Alex said as he hopped out of the car. He tried to take my bags but I refused. "No no Alex, I can carry them" Alex looked disappointed, but he moved aside to let me get them.

I followed the guys into an elevator. Alex hit the floor 5 button. I was then lead to a brown door with the numbers 505 on it. I assumed this was where Matt lived because this seemed vaguely familiar.

Alex offered to show me around. The apartment was rather large. He showed me Matt's room, the living room and kitchen, and his roo- woah woah wait. They lived together? I felt my heart drop. What if they were dating? No wait. I remembered when I was here the first time Matt told me I was sleeping in Alex's bed. He was out with a bird that night. And why wouldn't they be sharing a room? God, sometimes I felt so stupid.

"We don't really have a bed for you, but you can sleep on the couch if that's alright" Alex said. Deep down, I wanted to ask if I could sleep in his bed with him. Alex took me back into the living room and he sat down on the couch. I sat down next to him. I looked around to notice a turntable on top of a shelf, full of records.

"Oh, I guess I should probably tell you about our band. We're the arctic monkeys. I'm frontman and Matt plays the drums. We've also got Jamie Cook and Andy Nicholson. We're about to release our first studio album in the next month or so." I was so amazed. Alex was living my dream. "We released a single called I Bet You Look Good on the Dancefloor back in October" he continued. "We're going on tour around England over the summer, and I'm working on writing our next album"

"Oh and one last thing, Mi, we want you to join us on tour" I felt myself blush.
