Chapter 5

~ALYSON'S POV~

I awoke with Elijah's arm around my waist. I smiled and slowly got up, trying not to wake him. I walked downstairs and ran to the boarding house. When I got there Damon opened the door. I shoved past him and walked to my room. Today is the day we kill Klaus. Elijah thinks that he will be able to kill his own brother, but I know better than that. I grabbed my bag and put some clothes in it, grabbing my keys and getting into my car. I drove back to Elijah's and put my bag in my room. The house was quiet, I looked in Elijah's room. He was gone. Great, he left to kill Klaus and didn't even say goodbye just in case. I sat on his bed and smiled when I noticed a picture of me on his nightstand. I layed down on his bed, hoping that he would come back.

I heard the door open and I vamp sped to the door. I smiled when I saw Elijah. "Don't leave without saying goodbye ever again." I said while hugging him. I felt another presence and let go. I saw Klaus and slowly backed up a few steps. "You were supposed to kill him. Why is he alive?" Elijah sighed as Klaus laughed. "He didn't bury my siblings at sea. He has my family." I smiled slightly and nodded, understanding. "Would you like to come with Klaus and I to visit Katerina and then my family?" I nodded and followed them out the door.

We arrived at his apartment, to see Katherine and Stefan talking. "Stefan what are you doing here?" He ignored me and Klaus, Stefan and Elijah were talking. "You understand how important family is, or you wouldn't be here. My brother gave me his word that he would reunite me with my own." "And so I shall." Elijah yelled in pain as Klaus daggered him. I fell to the ground, crying. Klaus looked at me and smiled. He walked over to me and looked into my eyes "You will forget about Elijah until I tell you otherwise and you will no longer hate me." I blinked and suddenly I felt like I was forgetting something but I couldn't figure it out. I didn't listen while Stefan and Klaus were talking, but I knew it was about Damon. I noticed Stefan drinking blood and got up. "Stefan stop it. You know what blood does to you. Stop, for Lexi." I guess it sent him over the edge because he started chugging the blood.

Klaus got Stefan to go with him and I followed, hoping that Stefan would be fine. Klaus looked over to me, we were in some storage unit. He said we were here to retrieve his sister, Rebekah. Turns out Stefan knew him before.

~Time Skip~

"You may remember." Memories flooded back to me and I threw Klaus against a wall. I snapped his neck and walked outside. When he woke, he grabbed me by my shirt collar and dragged me to his car. When we got to the lot, he took me out of the car and we walked to the van. He was talking on the phone, trying to get ahold of Rebekah.

Klaus: Rebekah, where are you? Pick up the phone darling. Daddy's dead. It's time for a family reunion.

He hung up and I smiled.

Klaus: Stefan, miss me already?

Stefan: I'm just calling to thank you for my freedom.

Klaus: I like to be live I'm a man of my word. More or less.

Stefan: Thing is it came at too high of a price. You took everything from me Klaus.

Klaus: Let bygones be bygones. Trust me resentment gets old.

Stefan: You know what never gets old? Revenge.

Klaus: No!

Stefan: What's the matter Klaus? Missing something?

Klaus: What are you doing?

Stefan: I'm just enjoying my freedom.

Klaus: I will kill you and everyone you've ever met.

Stefan: You do that and you'll never see your family again. I wonder, Klaus. As someone who's been one step ahead for 1000 years. Were you prepared for this?

He hung up angrily and dragged me back to the car.
