As the sun slowly rose in the sky, I stirred from my slumber without the aid of an alarm clock. For years, the routine of waking up at this hour to prepare for school had become ingrained in me. Nevertheless, I couldn't deny that it was one of the best sleeps I had had in a long time. The bed was so soft and inviting that I could have easily dozed off again.
With a stretch, I rose from the bed and made my way to the bathroom. As I walked, my eyes lingered on the surroundings, still in awe of the luxurious interior design. The bathroom was no exception, and I couldn't help but marvel at the gleaming fixtures and sparkling tiles. I splashed water on my face, feeling invigorated as I gazed at myself in the mirror. I put my long hair up in a bun and surveyed my reflection once more.
Last night, I was rummaging through the closet, my eyes landed on a delicate nightgown that caught my eyes. I slipped it on, I decided to use the bathtub in the ensuite bathroom. It was my first time using it, and I was excited to try it out. I took an hour or so in the warm, bubbly water and relished the feeling of relaxation it brought. I can't still believe that some people like Jennie lives in luxury that many people envy.
I made my way down the stairs, taking in the lavish interior design once again. The thought crossed my mind that I could easily spend the whole day inside this stunning house. Nevertheless, I needed to eat, and so I walked towards the kitchen, my curiosity piqued about what might be inside the fridge.
As I looked through the contents of the fridge, I was overwhelmed by the sheer variety of food available. The fresh fruits looked inviting, and the different types of cheeses piqued my interest, I didn't know rich people buy different types of cheese and keep it in their fridge. I was at a loss for what to make. Cooking had never been my forte, and I was all too aware of my limitations in the kitchen.
After a few moments of indecision, I decided to explore the rest of the house. I meandered through the kitchen and out into the living room, taking in the vast expanse of space. The room was adorned with plush couches, designer rugs, and beautiful artwork that spoke volumes about the owner's taste.
Despite the grandeur of the surroundings, I couldn't help but feel a sense of familiarity. The silence was all too similar to the quietness of my own apartment, and I wondered if the vast space was merely an illusion. Lost in my thoughts, I barely noticed the sound of the elevator doors opening.
As I turned around, I saw Mr. Kang, walking towards me with a couple of bags in his hands. "You're up early," he said with a warm smile, as he made his way towards the couch and sat down next to me.
I returned his smile, feeling a sense of comfort in his presence. "I get used to waking up early because I need to walk my neighbor's dogs for extra money," I explained, chuckling.
"You sure do a lot of stuff, kid," he said, his voice laced with amusement.
"What are those?" I asked, my curiosity piqued.
"These are all for you... Miss Kim told me to buy these," he said, placing the bags down in front of me. I stared at him in disbelief.
"Jennie's kind... Just a bit of a monster," I said with a smirk. Mr. Kang chuckled, his deep voice rumbling like thunder. "You're the first one who ever said that Jennie's kind," he said, shaking his head in amusement.
"All of the other people who I talk to are all scared of Jennie," he said
"Go open it up, it's all yours," he said, nudging the bag towards me. Excitement bubbled up inside me as I eagerly open the bag and lifted the lid. Inside, I saw the sleek, shining surface of a brand new iPhone.
