As Jisoo and I walked out of the school, the sun beat down on us, casting a warm glow over the surrounding buildings. Despite having explained most things to her through text, Jisoo bombarded me with questions all day long. Her curious nature seemed insatiable, and her endless inquiries ranged from trivial matters to the more substantial topics of conversation.
I couldn't help but feel self-conscious as I noticed my classmates' eyes on me. Well I do have new clothes, and probably designer shoes and bag, which is unusual for me. Every time I caught someone looking at me, I couldn't help but feel a little uneasy.
As we made our way to the school gates, Jisoo turned to me and asked, "So, are you heading straight home since you don't have to work?"
"I was just thinking about it, you know? The whole penthouse is massive, and it's super quiet because it's just me and Jennie here. Even the security team's gone. It's like eerily quiet," I said, shoving my hands in my pockets and checking my phone for a message from Jennie, but there was nothing there.
"I'm gonna head out now, chu. I'll catch you tomorrow and if you wanna come visit me, I'll just ask Jennie if it's cool," I said, sliding my phone back into my pocket.
"You better tell Jennie to hook me up with one of her friends too," Chu replied, her voice suddenly serious, but her eyes were bright with mischief. I couldn't help but chuckle as I playfully punched her shoulder. "I gotta go too, 'cause Dalgom's probably waiting for me. See ya later!" I waved goodbye as Chu walked away, shaking my head in amusement.
I thought I'd walk home since it's not too far from the school, only about a 10-minute stroll. When I finally made it back to the penthouse, I noticed a couple of security guards standing next to the elevator. I gave them a nod and said, "Hey there, have you guys had anything to eat yet?" They shook their heads and I replied, "You should grab a snack or something," but they just smiled and said thanks.
As soon as I reach the penthouse, I head straight to the kitchen to feed Kuma. I scatter some dog food on his bowl and walk into the living room, but he's nowhere to be found. I decide to change first and then head to Jennie's room, which is slightly open. As I push the door, I see Kuma lying on her bed. He jumps up and runs towards me, wagging his tail excitedly.
"Hey there, Kuku!" I exclaimed with a grin, reaching down to pet my furry friend. He wagged his tail and licked my hand affectionately, clearly happy to see me. As I scooped him up, I could feel his warm, soft fur against my skin.
I made my way down the stairs, Kuku cradled in my arms. "Hungry boy, are you?" I asked him, chuckling as he let out a little bark in response. "I'll leave you some food and water here, okay? You take care of yourself." I set him down near his food and water bowls, making sure they were full before turning to leave.
As I headed towards the elevator, I paused and turned back to Kuku. "I'll make sure the guards keep an eye on you, buddy." As if he'll understand what I just said. I slide my shoes back on before grabbing some snacks and drinks from the fridge.
