LISA POV

FLASHBACK• (continuation)

I opened my eyes, and it was just blurry and everything felt like it was moving fast. My hearing seemed to be unclear too.

I could hear sirens and people chattering. I felt like I was lifted and was placed on a concrete board or something. It felt cold for some reason. I wanted to move, so I tried, but it seemed that I don't have enough power to.

My vision was a little better now but still cloudy. I could see people lifting me again and putting me inside a car. I looked around, I was sure it was an ambulance. I started to panic.

They placed a mask on my face and checked my vital signs. "What happened?" I said with panic in my voice and trying to sit up

"You're going to be okay, calm down." The nurse said while trying to lay me back down.

I started to process in my mind with what's happening and I forgot what just had happened. I panicked again. My breathing was getting unstable. I could feel my heart jumping in and out from chest.

I held my chest tightly. I tried to sit.

"Where's my mom??! Is she okay?! Where is she?!" I said trying to fight back as they were trying to calm me down.

I could feel pain from my body but especially to the stinging pain from my heart. I felt that something was wrong since no one is really answering my questions.

I was about to say something again when my vision got blurry and I started to feel weak. Then just like that, everything turned black again; darkness.

I opened my eyes again. All I could see was white. White walls, white furnitures and these white sheets.

Am I dreaming?

I tilted my head and saw a guy sitting at the corner scrolling through his phone. I arched an eyebrow looking confused. He looks familiar.

Seconds later he noticed that I was staring at him.

He looked at me with a smile.

"Oh! You're awake now. That's good news! Let me just call the doctor, i'll be back." He said and left the room.

I now realized that I'm inside a hospital room laying on a hospital bed.

The door opened again. I saw a doctor coming in followed by that guy again. He approached me with a smile.

He checked me for awhile.

"I'm glad to say that you are looking okay now." He said still with a smile.

" You are a very strong girl, Ms. Lalisa. You're condition was very critical a few days ago. And you're lucky that you are here today, awake and healthy. Take this second opportunity to appreciate life better." He added and I could hear sincerity.

I was about to smile back but then I remembered about my mom.

"Wait." I said.

"How 'bout my mom? Where is she?" I asked and there was silence around the room.

All I could hear was my unstable heart beating so hard, waiting and hoping to hear good news.

But the expression on their faces changed and that doesn't seem to be a good sign.

The doctor fixed his glasses and cleared his throat.

"I'm sorry to say this, but you need to know otherwise. Your mom, she was a strong woman too, she was fighting her way for life for just one reason, you. And she did. But..." he paused and sighed.
