~Devil Pov~
"What?!" Dice yelled, but still keeping his voice down. "Are you crazy? Wait, why am I even asking that? Of course you're crazy!" I just rolled my eyes and sighed. "Boss, you haven't even known her for a full year." he said. "You can't just pop the question before that! Neither of you are ready!" "I know, Dice." I grumbled. "But when I looked at her today, I just felt like something was missing. And that something is a ring." Dice sighed in disbelief. "I think you're going way to fast right now, boss." he inputted. "I'm sure she's fine just being your girlfriend for now. She doesn't need to be your wife for you to know that she loves you." "I know that, Dice." I replied. "But... I just feel like we're meant to be. You know?" Dice rolled his eyes and said, "Since when did you become all philosophical? I thought the Devil himself sought to destroy love." He spoke with a taunting voice, making me growl. "She's different." I said. "Before I met her, I was convinced love wasn't real, or that it was dead. But after being around her this much and letting my emotions and feelings be themself around her, I'm starting to have second thoughts. Maybe love is real. At least this love is."
"I see." Dice said, scratching his chin. "But I still think you asking her to marry you is a bit of a jump. I get that you love her, and I know she loves you, but like I said, you haven't even known her for a year. It's way to early to even be thinking about it. But what am I to say? You're the Devil. You don't listen to anyone." "You're my right-hand-man, aren't you?" I asked with a smirk. "And from what I know, a right-hand-man of anyone, especially the Devil, should be there to support and follow what his leader says, correct?" He just threw his hands in the air for a split second and let them fall to his side. "Sure, whatever." he said. "But a right-hand-man also gives advise and wise words to his leader, to make sure he doesn't smash everything all to pieces."
I threw my head back in laughter. "You? Give wise words to me?" I said between laughs. "That's the funniest thing I've heard all day. If anything, the only wise words you say are when you don't even open your mouth." He scowled and turned his back. "I'm just speaking my mind, boss." he said, crossing his arms. "I still think it's too soon, but it's up to you to decide if you think both of you are ready." My laughter died down after a couple minutes. "Well, thank you for your wise words, Dice." I said, still chuckling. "I'll be heading off to bed now. Goodnight." "Goodnight, boss." he replied. The two of us headed towards the rooms in the back, and I approached my bedroom, seeing (y/n) was sitting up in bed. "I thought you had gone to sleep." I said, getting her to raise her head and look at me. "I decided to wait for you." she replied. "What were you and Dice talking about?" I shrugged and said, "Business stuff. Nothing too concerning." "I get the feeling that that's not at all what you were talking about." she said, making the hairs on the back of my neck rise. "Well it was." I said, trying to keep my cool. "We were just talking about how to attract more people to the casino." "Alright." she said, moving so she could lie down in the bed and not have her back on the frame. I crawled into the bed, next to her, and pulled the blanket over both of us. "Goodnight." she said, sleepily. "Goodnight, my dear." I said, kissing her cheek. "I love you." "I love you, too." she mumbled. Then we both drifted off to sleep
~Your Pov~
You awoke to a soft, fluffy feeling against your back, and soft arms around you. You smiled knowing it was just the Devil, and gently sat up as to not disturb him, and his arm slid off. You quietly stretched and got out of bed. You knew he wasn't going to like that you were out of bed early again, but you wanted to set a good example for everyone else in the casino. You anticipated him getting up again and dragging you back to bed, but he didn't. That helped, and you were able to freshen up a bit more. You decided to take a shower, since you haven't taken one in a whole week, and you probably stunk.
It was so nice to feel the warm water running down your skin, the sweet smell of the shampoo, the relaxing feeling of the soap on your body. It felt like your life had always been perfect. Like you had never had those horrible things happen to you. It was so peaceful, you didn't want anything to change.
After drying off an getting dressed, you saw that the Devil was still sound asleep. You went over, planting a kiss on his cheek, then left the room to go make breakfast.
