After a long month in the land of waves, protecting the bridge builder as he constructs the final touches to the bridge connecting the land of waves to the mainland. Which was surprisingly named after the team's blonde knucklehead ninja, and signified that it was time for the Konoha shinobi to return home. The group was getting ready to leave on the coming noon when the villagers asked the group to stay the night as heroes to the Wave Village. Insisting it was their way to offer their thanks for their protection and services, and for especially chasing off Goto and his men. After some persuading the two Senseis' agreed since it would help form a strong relationship between their villages.

The next morning, Obito let the rest of the group sleep in a bit, before their long journey home. While he wrote a short letter to the Fourth Hokage, explaining that the bridge was finished and they are returning to the Konoha and should be back in two days. Then added a small encoded message that their team met the mysterious shinobi known as "Wolf '' and that he is traveling with two Hidden Mist Shinobi, known as Zabuza Momochi and a teen wearing a Mist Anbu mask. Before biting his thumb and summoning one of the cat summonings, that he uses for sending messages. Through the use of the harness that has a small pouch on the cat's back. After finishing his report, Obito carefully folded the thin paper until it fit into the cat's pouch and sealed the pouch that Minato could only open. Before telling the cat to take his message to the Fourth Hokage, the cat nodded, meowed, then poofed away in a small cloud of smoke. The Uchiha-sensei smiled as he got up and stretched before heading over to wake the others.

The mid-morning sun peered through the tall pine trees as the group continued making their way back to the Hidden Leaf Village. Obito kept a few paces back as he watched Iruka lecture about the survival skills that he had been teaching in the Academy. The three students soaked up the information like a sponge, like where moss grows on trees and the types of landmarks that can lead to civilization. The Uchiha-sensei grinned, remembering the time when Rin would be teaching him and Kakashi different medical herbs as Minato-sensei would follow a few paces behind keeping watch while engaging in the conversation.

However, Obito could not shake this eerie feeling of being watched. He couldn't feel any chakra signatures around them, but the instincts of an experienced shinobi were not something to ignore. And something was wrong, very wrong, and the Uchiha-sensei quickened his pace to reach the group.

"Stay alert. We're being watched," Obito softly whispered, as a sudden light appeared from a large complex sealing barrier surrounding them. Made only to trap them within its purple walls.

The two Senseis' went into a back-to-back formation, with the three nervous students in the middle. While dozens of shinobi appeared from the thick foliage of the forest, all with weapons drawn and crooked smirks on their faces. In a quick fluid motion, Iruka unclipped one of the small compartments on his combat vest, retrieving a small scroll. Before quickly unraveling the paper revealing the seal inscribed inside. Obito quickly blocked the multiple kunai and shuriken flying towards them as the genin got in formation, covering each other's backs for any other incoming attacks. While Iruka dropped the open scroll on the dirt path, forming several hand signs before stomping his foot on the circle in the middle of the seal. The three students were shocked by the large amounts of water flowing from the seal, only for the academy Sensei to use more hand signs. That manipulated the water to form into eight octopus-like tentacles that lashed out at the enemies. While Obito launches multiple fireballs, making sure to keep all lightning attacks away from the water under their feet. While aware the students stare in shock at the growing amount of bodies lying limp on the ground. However, he knows that his student will have to see the horrors of the shinobi life eventually.
