The Fun Life of Everlark

Chapter 1

I start Mockingjay high In a couple of weeks. Me and my sister moved after our parents died. They were killed when a truck totaled their car. Anyway we now live in a large mansion like house, at the beach with our Uncle Haymitch and Aunt Effie!. My sister,Prim, is in Fire middle school.

I walk down the long hallway and down the stairs. "Where's Uncle Haymitch?" I ask Sae, our cook as I walk into the kitchen. "He had to go to the Capitol for a business conference." "oh."

Just then Effie runs into the room. "Katniss, doll why don't you take little Primmy down to the beach?"

"Um.... how far is it if we walk?" I ask still not used to living with our perky Aunt. "Nonsense Katniss, use your car!" she says handing me the keys and walking away. I walk to the living room looking for Prim. "Prim, where are you?!" "I'm upstairs!" I hear Pim scream. "Get changed, were going to the beach." "YAY!" I hear her screech. I chuckle and walk to my room. I walk into my giant closet, in search of a bathing suit. I search thru the little clothes I have and find a Orange bikini. I put it on and grab a towel. I walk downstairs and find Prim bouncing up and down excitedly. "come on Prim, lets go." I say walking to the door. "How far is the walk?" Prim asks. "we won't be walking," I say with a smile and hold up the keys. "COOL!" Prim screeches. "Girls, hold up one minute," Effie says walking into the room. "I know you don't have a phone Katniss so I got you one, i also got you a wallet and put some change in there. Effie says handing me a wallet and a green iPhone 6. "OMG AUNT EFFIE I CAN'T THANK YOU ENOUGH!!!!" I scream hugging her. "Oh little Primmy I got you a Phone too." Effie says handing Prim a phone just like mine except its Pink.

"THANK YOU SO MUCH!!" Prim says hugging Effie tightly. "You are very welcome and have fun at the beach!" She calls as she walks away. I walk outside and see my Aunts car and beside it is a Green Mustang. "OMG Kat, it's so cool!" Prim says walking over to it. I stand there in awe. I finally walk over and get in. "To the beach!" Prim screams changing the radio to a Brad Paisley song.

When we pull up to the beach we both get out. "Beat ya there!" I scream running down the sand, Prim close behind. I do a dive into the water and pop up looking for Prim. I find her on the beach talking away with another girl. I get out of the water and dry myself off. I walk over to Prim. "hey prim who's this?" I ask. "this is Rue, Rue this is Katniss, my sister," "Katniss, Rue goes to the same school as me!" Prim screams in delight. "Hey Katniss, do you mind if I ask how old you are?" Rue asks shyly. "not at all Rue, I'm 16," I say. "So is my brother and his friends." Rue says. "would you like to meet them?!" Rue asks excitedly. "Um... sure," "Ok they will be out here at 5:00 because they are coming down to get me and eat at the Food place down at that end of the beach." "ok, I'll be there." I say smiling. "well I have to go, Prim do you have a phone?" rue asks. "yep," Prim says as she pulls out her phone and gives Rue her number. "well bye guys ill see you at 5." Rue says as she leaves.
