Taylor then heard the screams of Leia in pain from afar.

1LT. Max Taylor: Riley! Leia's in trouble, we gotta go get her.

Riley: Wouldn't this be in violation of Protocol 2?

1LT. Max Taylor: Fuck that shit! Leia needs us and we're not leaving her to die.

Riley: Roger that. Recommend you embark.

Taylor hopped into the cockpit and the two ran to where the screams were coming from. Walker sees them run off.

CPT. Sebastian Walker: Taylor! Where are you two going?

1LT. Max Taylor: We're taking care of the guy we failed to kill.

CPT. Sebastian Walker: Do not go out there by yourself. We need to-

Taylor switched off his radio and continued his search. The two ran around the country side and found Leia unconscious on the ground with 2nd degree burns all over her right arm and tail and 3rd degree burns on her left arm. He got out of his titan and checked on her.

1LT. Max Taylor: Leia! Holy shit. Leia, wake up. We're getting you out of here.

Riley: Taylor, hostile titan inbound. Recommend you embark.

1LT. Max Taylor: Hang on Riley.

Taylor pulled her and rested her body near a tree. Rourke then appeared in his Tone-class titan.

Samuel Rourke: About time you showed up. I was dying to kill you and collect my titan.

1LT. Max Taylor: I'm gonna kill you.

Taylor embarked on Riley and the two titans fought. Rourke attacked Taylor with his 40 millimeter cannon and tracking rockets. Taylor used his vortex shield and deflected the ordnance with ease. Taylor pulled out the broadsword and fought back against Rourke. Taylor knocked the cannon out of Rourke's hand and grabbed onto his chassis. He then ripped off the hatch, pulled Rourke out of the cockpit and threw him on the ground. Taylor disembarked and approached his opponent. The two exchanged punches before Taylor gained the upper hand and incapacitated his foe. After the fight, he took off his opponent's helmet, pulled out his data knife and proceeded to stick it into Rourke's right eye. Rourke screamed a lot before being pushed to the ground and beaten to death by Taylor with his own helmet. Six minutes had past and Taylor was done with beating since his opponent's face looked like red stew after the nonstop beating. As he got up, his arms felt numb and he along with Riley went over to check on Leia.

Riley: Leia is unconscious, but requires immediate medical attention.

1LT. Max Taylor: Got it. Let's get her home.

Taylor proceeded to carry Leia on his arms. She was heavier than a human and the tail made things a little difficult, but he didn't give up. He and Riley walked on to the village. While walking, Leia woke up for a little bit and she sees Taylor carrying her like a princess.

Leia POV

The burning pain all throughout my body felt like it was being suppressed by the presence of my knight in shining armor. I feel very good when I am close to him. And I don't want to leave his side.

1LT. Max Taylor POV

God, she's heavy. Never in my life did I get the chance to carry a woman, or in this case demihuman. While I carried her, I felt her right arm being wrapped around my neck. I looked at her and she was still asleep, except she had a smile on her face. And it was quite the infectious smile.

The three made it back to the village and Walker sees Taylor come back all different.

1LT. Max Taylor: You got something to say, Captain?
