You wake up in a white room. As white as heaven can be.
How did you get here?
Your first thought is that someone kidnapped you and so you look around- no chains or latches.
You're alone in the room and you're trying to get used to the brightness of the room, it's like no one has been here before. The room pristine. Clean.
You walk, heading  to find the door but there is no door. You check the remaining walls. You might be a lab rat for an escape room, that soothes you so you try to find a latch but can't seem to find one as you look at every space the walls, floors and ceiling have to offer.
You call out but you find it hard to get the sounds out of your throat. Nothing you do works. You can't make a sound and you're left with your thoughts in this quiet room.
Maybe you're in a lab? No way, right? Perhaps you've contracted a deadly disease and are being studied or maybe you're the cure.
Maybe you're stuck in one of those asylum rooms. Treated like an animal. Nothing to call your own.
You notice there are no windows. Soon, your vision cuts out. Everything is dark but you can't scream and so you crawl on the floor. You put one hand in front of the other but now you've fallen onto the floor. All you can move are your shoulders and you decide to walk but find you can't.
Why?
And so you decide to hop slowly, thrusting your weight so you can move though not very far, it feels like a weight is pressed onto you. You're stuck and you try to cry but no tears fall. Not being able to feel the warmth of your tears trickle down your cheeks.
You're frustrated now.
I would too if I lost all my limbs.
You can't move anywhere and now it's been hours.
You've been stuck in the same place; unable to move, speak, cry.
Your stomach rumbles, you're hungry.
Oh so hungry.
Hunger- one of those feelings no one wants to feel but thousands feel everyday. Your hunger gets the best of you and you try chewing on the fabric of your clothes but they're gone. You don't remember being robbed of them.
And so, you do the unspeakable.
It's not cannibalism if it's yourself, right? You're not eating another human, people bite their nails and lips all the time.
You're ripped from your thoughts as hunger surges within you.
You greedily bite into your lips, wanting to eat but you're can't.
Where are your teeth? You've no idea. And so you sit, unable to eat, cry, move or speak.
So this is what it's like to die?
No, not to be die. You only wish you could.
And so you think the hours, days, months and years away.
But you will never die.
Why?
Because time doesn't exist in a place like this.
