I had always hated staring into the distance. It made me feel uneasy and remember bad memories. A chill went down my spine and shrugged my shoulders. I was given a request from Shiruyui, but I wondered why she would make me do this type of job. I mean I am an assassin however, I'm not supposed to do these things. There was a scream from down below in the alley. I looked down to see what was the commotion. Then I witnessed what I didn't want to see. Death. A player had ended a person's life in a second.
"No!" a screamed let out.
People are already had started killing. I found it intriguing, I figured a peaceful get-together and going against the developers would be the best answer. That isn't the case this time though. A huge aura of blood lust grew. I knew I had to get out of here before they find out I'm here. As when I tried to make my escape, I hear a voice.
"Hello there."
My eyes slowly expanded. I saw her right behind me climbing from the alleyway. I quickly fled and jump onto another building then she followed. She wasn't losing her ground. I couldn't shake her off of me. The more I jump the faster she comes closer. She started to throw shurikens behind me and I started to evade them at the same time. I was losing my speed. I wonder who was even this chick is. How is she this fast? She managed to get a shuriken onto my leg and I stopped then decided in a quick matter. I had to fight her.
"Checkmate, Riku."
"Erza."
"Yes? Is something the matter? I only wanted to say hi but you ran away like some dog."
"You don't intend to kill me right?"
"We never had made an agreement. Riku I know you and me go way back in time from the beginning. However, that was then and this is now. I cannot afford to spare you as of now so I'm sorry Riku."
I quickly threw my throwing daggers at her. Erza stood still as the daggers didn't touch her.
"Nice try, now give up Riku. You don't have many options either do you?"
"Didn't think it has to end this way Erza."
"It was nice meeting you, farewell."
As she walked closer to me. I knew death was near upon me. My leg started to bleed more the more I fidgeted. I closed my eyes and had accepted my fate. She pulled out her own throwing dagger and aimed carelessly. I couldn't get my last mission done that was assigned to me. I found it sad that I couldn't do things for people that meant the most at the moment. When I was younger I remember playing catch with my father. There was this one day we were outside in front of our house. I threw the ball too hard past my father. It rolled over onto the street my father had followed after it. We were totally unaware that afternoon there was a truck that was going 100 miles per hour. As my father just grabbed the ball from the ground it was too late. The driver in the truck was clearly drunk in broad daylight and had crashed into my father. All I could've done is just watch all of it happen. My mother came outside screaming and crying then was yelling at me for continuous years after that I could've done something. What was I to her? I had a lot of regrets about not trying to do anything to save my father. I should have done something that day. Now I'm here dying with my regrets.
"I'll be taking this." as Erza takes Riku's phone.
Silvia had finally caught up to us in my very last glimpse I saw her trying to help me stay alive. Then darkness had fallen over me.
I looked straight at Erza.
"How could you do this? Wasn't that player your friend?"
"You worry too much, it's only just some game that we're playing. Except I'm not going to go down easily. Now that I have both these two new powers I want to try it on someone. Follow me, Silvia, it's time to look for our next target."
