in which the first thing your soulmate ever says to you is engraved on your wrist.

CYRUS WAS THE BIGGEST ROMANTIC ON EARTH, which it's not like he could apologize. He loved LOVED the prospect of soulmates. Literally ever since he was a little boy he had found his heart begging for love.

His friend, Andi, has always known her soulmate, she was lucky. On her wrist there were the words 'Hi I'm Amber, Jonah's girlfriend.' Which lead Andi to Amber right away. On Amber's wrist was 'Gee, it's you.' Which made Andi blush really bad when she was asked about it. Cyrus was obsessed with the two girls who immediately fell in love and Cyrus loved love.

His other friend's, Buffy's, wrist said, 'It's Marty from the party!' That's how she met Marty, who had 'No way.' On his wrist. He would say how that made him think he'd get rejected. Then Cyrus would laugh because it's all so cute!

Cyrus's own wrist was... odd. It said 'You can't get your own muffin?' Which confused him as a child but now he knows exactly why that's there. Cyrus loved the muffins at morning breakfast but he never was able to get one because of how they were always gone by the time it was his turn in the line. It was a usual occasion each morning, with Buffy and him standing in line and then he is unable to get a muffin so he's dejected the rest of the day.

That ended one day though when Buffy seemed particularly on edge.

"Don't look now. It's Kippen." She mumbled angrily, motioning to a tall boy coming their way. Cyrus nodded slightly, keeping his eyes on the muffins.

Once Tj stood in front of them though, Cyrus turned to the boy and almost cried. He had to hide his shocked face, he had never actually seen Tj this close before. The older boy was beautiful, blue eyes and blonde hair and a perfectly framed jaw. Cyrus felt butterflies in his stomach and he almost gasped at the feeling. Tj was in front of Buffy, not even glancing in Cyrus' way, who was practically weak at the knees.

"I need your help." Tj stated, not even asking. Buffy looked taken aback by this, she never liked feeling like she was being told what to do.

"With what." She hissed and Tj rolled his eyes dramatically. Cyrus watched the exchange silently, biting his lip.

"You know what. I need you to tutor me." He whispered, looking around him like that was the most embarrassing thing ever.

Buffy thought for a moment and then she got a glimmer in her eye. Cyrus realized what this meant and almost laughed. Whenever Buffy got an idea that was slightly 'evil' she'd smirk. It's like in truth or dare, when she dared Jonah to lick the floor. That's the kind of smirk she has on right now. She turned to him though and immediately he prayed she didn't bring him into this conversation.

"I will... if you get my friend here a chocolate chocolate chip muffin." She said smugly and smirked at Cyrus. Tj always got his muffins fearlessly, which Buffy knew. But for some reason, Cyrus felt his wrist start to ache. He frowned, softly rubbing it.

Meanwhile, Tj finally glanced at the smaller boy and his jaw practically dropped to the floor. The petite brunette was practically the cutest person he's ever laid eyes on. Tj immediately felt his heart swell up at the sight of him. In his head though, voices were screaming at him to keep up his jock facade. Even with a cute boy.

"You can't get your own muffin?" He said, trying to sound harsh but it came out more flirty than he intended. Cyrus blushed beat red, tugging on Buffy's arm.

"I don't need this level of embarrassment." He whispered to her and then turned back to Tj.

"But no." He replied and Tj gasped quickly, looking down at his own wrist. 'But no.' Shined in bright gold and he looked back up, locking eyes with Cyrus, who was looking at his own wrist with shock. Buffy looked at them both confused.

"Can someone please tell me what's happening?" She asked and for once Cyrus ignored his friend, keeping his eyes locked with Tj. The taller boy stepped forward and gently grabbed Cyrus' hand. He ran his thumb lightly over the words 'You can't get your own muffin?' and grinned. That's what he said... that means this boy is his soulmate. Tj smiled even more if it was possible and Cyrus smiled too, feeling his eyes well up with tears.

"You're?" He asked softly and Tj nodded, not letting go of Cyrus' hand.

"I'm Tj." The tall boy mumbled and Cyrus flushed a shade of red.

"Cyrus." He replied gently and Tj held his hand, feeling electricity in the other boy's touch. Buffy felt like she was intruding on a moment as she watched the two. The love in both of their eyes was so strong, she thinks maybe they beat Amber and Andi in that. She grabbed Cyrus' arm softly, not wanting to ruin the moment but having to.

"Cyrus we gotta get to first hour." She said and the smaller boy had to force his eyes off Tj to glance at her. She felt Tj send her a glare for taking the petite boy's attention away from him and it almost made Buffy laugh. Cyrus looked back at Tj then her.

"Yeah um-"

"Here." Tj butted in and handed Cyrus his phone, smiling like a dork again. Cyrus grinned and typed his number in, handing it back to Tj. The boys continued to stare at each other until the warning bell rang.

"C'mon Cyrus!" Buffy whined, not wanting to ruin their moment but also not wanting a tardy.

"Text me!" Cyrus shouted as Buffy pulled him away. Before Cyrus fully walked away though, he looked back, seeing that Tj was still staring and smiling. They both shared a soft wave as Buffy continuously pulled Cyrus away.
