Sienna woke up early the next morning. She planned on making breakfast for her family but she was also really to return to school. She knew that no one knew she was in rehab. Her mother had been careful enough to not allow any paparazzi photos to be taken of her. The rehab staff had signed NDA's. And none of the addicts would tell. It was just rehab code. But if anyone was as smart as RJ was, then they would figure it out too. And she just didn't know how they would react to her reappearance. Things had definitely changed since she had left for Paris. But had they changed for the better or worse?
She took off her head scarf and bonnet before climbing out of bed and stepping into her brown fur moccasins. She passed by her siblings rooms on the way down the stairs. RJ slept in pitch blackness, his black durag on his head, and cuddled up to a pillow. Jack, in the room across from RJ's, slept with a nightlight on that projected yellow stars all across the ceiling and walls. He was just so adorable. Sienna continued down the stairs. But when she made it to the kitchen, she saw her Dad already preparing food for breakfast.
"What are you doing up so early?" He asked, mixing a bowl. "Well, I was gonna make everything breakfast but you beat me to it" Sienna smiled, taking a seat at the counter. "You know I enjoy cooking. It helps me clear my head" Rafael said, reaching under the counter for a pan. "Is there something that you need cleared from your head?" She asked. She was hoping - praying - that he would ask about Paris. She wanted to tell him, to confide in him. "Restaurant week is coming up and I'm struggling to decide which items to put on the menu" He said. "Oh" Sienna said quite disappointed, "Yeah, that is a tough decision."
"Why? Is there something else?" Rafael asked. "Well, I-" Sienna was cut off once again. "Good morning, homies" RJ announced, walking into the kitchen and having a seat at the counter next to his sister. "Junior" Their father scolded. "Sorry, Papai" RJ responded. "You were saying, Sienna?" Rafael looked at his daughter. "You know what. Never mind, it's not important" Sienna responded. Maybe another time. "You sure?" He asked. She nodded. "Alright, why don't you two go get dressed for school while I finish up down here?" Rafael asked.
The two kids stood up and pushed their chairs in. "You excited to go back to school?" RJ asked as they walked up the stairs. "I think terrified would be the better word" Sienna responded. "Dude, you're gonna be fine. If anything, people are gonna be excited to see you. You're a celebrity. They're probably gonna be like: Oh my god! Sienna Solano! Please sign my boob!" RJ imitated her "fans," jumping up and down and fanning himself with his hands. "Stop, stop, stop" She laughed, making him stop jumping, "That's not what I want."
"What? You're saying you don't wanna be famous?" RJ asked. "Don't get me wrong, I loved it. But it means that eyes are always on you. You're never truly alone. If I could do it all over, my way - without mom, I'm sure I would've been happy" Sienna answered. "Man, I wish I had the fame you have for my music career. It's exactly what I need" He said, running his hands over his plaits. The younger twin whispered to her brother, "Fame isn't all that, Raf. If I was never famous then I wouldn't have nearly overdosed." "True" He agreed.
