· In the last chapter Michael went on the east end to receive money from a guy named Red because King was expanding his business or merging them to be more specific. Michael ended up taking all of Red's money and giving two-thousand to Red's girl. I knows it been a minute since I updated so I thought y'all needed a recap.

Since Lauren died I stopped going out so much unless I was with Michael and Caleb. I'd completely pushed away my two girlfriends Jasmine and Ziggy, because of what happened between me and Lauren. I'd lost my best friend because of those I was related to and I didn't want to put anybody else's parents through what Lauren's parents had to endure. So, I'd cut them all off.
But when Michael and Caleb were doing their thing, that Michael had forbid me from tagging along with, and my mother had her own set of friends, and my father couldn't be bothered because he had business, I was alone.
I sat around the house watching TV, playing games on the computer, or sleeping. Occasionally, I went over Michael's to spend the night and we spent plenty of time together, but after the whole Red situation my nights at his place became limited.
This was the first time since I'd left for college that I was actually ready to go back. I missed my girls Lisa and Zoey. We talked over the phone when we could, but Lisa lived in Texas, working at her family's restaurant to stack up tips, so she was busy majority of the time. Then Zoey lived all the way in D.C. but was spending the summer in Florida for a dentistry-based internship, so she was busy too.
I'd wished that I'd accepted an internship too, but my dad flipped out when I decided to go all the way to Rhode Island for college, and when I did have an internship lined up in California I had to turn it down. Apparently, my dad had expanded his business to the popular sunshine state and created quite a bit of enemies along the way and since he couldn't pack up and move with me for the entire summer he advised against it.
And my mother, Caleb, and Michael agreed. So, guess he couldn't feel California's summer heat on her skin? This girl. I wasn't mad at first, but when what I'd anticipated to be a fun summer died down and boredom struck, I wished they had allowed me to leave. What good was it being nineteen if I couldn't do what I wanted?
Still, I didn't argue about it. Instead I perfected doing my nails, I'd even become a master at free-hand designs, as long as I was doing them on my left hand that is. I taught myself how to bake from scratch and even made up a few recipes of my own.
Then when things got really boring I started to put in applications for jobs. No one wanted to hire me considering I was going back to school, but a boutique on the east end was really desperate, so when I walked in the boutique to put in an application the woman interviewed and hired me on the spot
I didn't exactly tell Michael, Caleb, or my parents where the boutique was, I actually lied. My daddy was moving into east end, but there was a lot of uproar from rivals who didn't want to work under my father or even next to him, so it was still a hostile environment for me to be in. But I always carried my pocket knife, a can of pepper spray attached to my keyring, and I made sure my phone was always charged.
