Carter

I squeezed her closer to me, if I wasn't sure about Sophia being my mate, I sure knew it now.

It sucked not having her in every single one of my classes, but I know I cant always get my way. Girls and boys don't have athletics together, for one reason.

1. Boys are rough.

It's true, no matter what you are; girl or boy, cat or dog. Boys will be boys, I should know since I'm a boy myself.

I sighed as I watched Sophia walk down the hallway, her blonde hair flowing down her back in its graceful state.

I turned and ran to ELA before the tardy bell rang.

I took a seat next to Riley, who thankfully had this class with me. As the teacher spoke, I couldn't help but not listen. I day dreamed about one person, Sophia.

Her blonde hair that cascaded down her back in beautiful curls, those amazing blue eyes that I could stare into forever. She was just so magnificent, beautiful in every way.

Even if she wasn't my mate, I think I still would've taken a liking to her no matter what. Sophia was just that type of person that you couldn't help but love or like.

"Dude, Sophia is so attractive." Riley leaned over in his desk to whisper into my ear, placing his hand on my desk for balance.

My blood boiled at the fact of Riley calling my Sophia attractive. I swiftly grabbed his hand from my desk, yanking him to me so hard that his chair jerked along with it. It screeched as it was dragged, Riley letting out a quiet yelp.

I squeezed his hand, hard. "Don't you ever, and I mean ever, talk about Sophia like that again. You understand?" I whispered dangerously into his ear. I would say that it was my wolf doing this, but I cant put all the blame on his shoulder, half was me.

'Don't let him take away my mate.' He growled out, I bet my eyes were turning gold as my wolf tried to take control.

He wanted blood, Riley's blood to be more specific.

'Don't you mean our mate.' I snapped at him. Selfish wolf.

"Yes, Carter sir." Riley said with a shaky voice. He was scared, I thought. He should be.

I released his hand, not missing the read hand print that was on it. Riley yanked his hand back, scooting his chair far away as possible. I sighed and looked to the front. I should feel sorry, but I don't.

"Look Ri-" I started, the bell suddenly rang interrupting my sentence.

Riley shot out of his chair, walking out the door.

I ran after him catching the sleeve of his jacket. "What do you want, Carter." The fire burned in his eyes as he turned around to face me.

"Look, I didn't mean what I did. I would say I'm sorry but I'm not. You have to understand, I think- Sophia is my mate." I correct, sure that Sophia was actually my soulmate. Time will tell.

"Really, dude!" Riley yelled earning a few looks from passing students. His eyes were wide, his mouth gaping like a fish.

"Really."

"Hey, guys!" A beautiful voice fills my ears. I look over Riley's shoulder and see an angel walking in our direction.

"Hey, Sophia." I smiled brightly at her, offering my hand to her. I've missed her touch, even though it's been only an hour.

She past Riley, placing her small, delicate hands in mine. I smile at the warmness that fills my body, hopefully she feels it also.

"Oh, hey Riley!" Sophia says, finally taking notice of Riley's presence.

"Hi, Sophia." Riley says a bit hesitantly. Heck, I'd be nervous to if I almost had my hand broken by my best friend.

Ring

"Oh, gosh! We're going to be late to class!" Sophia yelped, attempting to run in the direction of her locker. I stayed in place letting our locked hands do all the work. She is yanked back, hard, into my embrace. My chest touching her back.

I had no abs, and felt extremely embarrassed at this moment. I gently pushed her away, not wanting her to find out. I've heard girls in class saying how they would like a guy with abs. I would suspect Sophia was the same way.

'We'll work on it, to please our mate.' My wolf said, emphasizing our.

'Of course we will! I don't want to walk around with, with no abd! That's so unattractive to girls!'

'Quiet down, boy. I said we'll work on it, and we will.' I rolled my eyes. In my opinion, my wolf was far too wise for me. I guess that's what I get for having Alpha gene's. He was like my second dad, always yelling at me, keeping me in line.

"-tomorrow." I blinked my eyes, falling out of my daze state. Barely catching the conversation that was happening between Riley and Sophia.

"Yeah, I hope he is." Sophia looked to me and smiled, happiness shown in her eyes. My heart warmed at the sight, my wolf howling inside my head.

"What are we talking about?" I ask, a blush appearing onto my face. Sophia laughed.

"About tomorrow. You know, when you find your mate."

"I guess I don't have to look very far." I gave her a knowing look. She shrugged it off with a small smile. Can tomorrow come any sooner?

I slithered my arms around her waist, it was a bold move and I would be lying if I said I wasn't nervous. What if she pushes me away once she realizes what I've done? Will she love it just as much as I do? My insecure thoughts were halted when she moved closer to me, wrapping her arms around my waist, placing her head on my shoulder. I looked over and found Sophia already looking at me.

I moved my head, placing it next to hers. We were the same height which was embarrassing.

I breathed in the scent she was giving off; strawberries.

"Did you just sniff me?" Sophia laughed, her eyes crinkling and nose scrunching up. Oh how much I would kill for her to be mine already.

"Maybe I did, maybe I didn't." I gave a goofy grin to her, she gave me one right back.

I looked back to where Riley once stood, he was gone, fled. "We should go get some lunch, we only have 20 minutes left, Sophia."

"Sure."

We walked towards the cafeteria, hand in hand. I welcomed the warm feeling my arm was getting from being so close to Sophia. I don't think I'll ever be able to get used to it.
