"-and the winner is Penelope!" Mr. Puffs voice rang across the gymnasium. The kids booed, everyone knew that Penelope had cheated. Like it wasn't very hard to figure it out.

"She cheated." Carter spit out as we walked out of the gym. So I lost against Penelope when we played 'Brain Mania'.

"Yeah anyone could've guessed that." I laughed as me and Carter swung our hands back and forth.

"So, do you need a ride home?" Carter asked me while we made our way to the parking lot.

"Yeah I will. I totally forgot to tell my parents what time I needed to be picked up." I sighed, shuffling through my bag and pulling my phone out. "Your parents wouldn't mind?"

"Of course not Sophia!" He exclaimed, smiling.

I quickly texted my dad and slid my phone into my back pocket, walking with Carter snugly by my side. "The black Chevy?" I questioned, noticing that was the direction we were heading.

Carter nodded, so I reached for the door handle, "Sophia! Let me ge-" Carter stopped mid sentence as his hand covered mine on the door handle. A warm feeling traveled from my hand to the rest of my body, I gulped as our eyes locked. Suddenly I couldn't even remember my name has I peered into his beautiful green eyes.

"What is taking so long you two?"

I blinked and quickly pulled open the door, greeting the curious gaze of my Luna. "Hello Luna, I really appreciate the ride."

Even though I was trained not to be nervous in any situation, I just couldn't help it. This could be my potential mother-in-law one day! The grandmother of my pups! Okay, I need to stop thinking ahead, he might not even be my mate. That very thought alone brought an uneasy feeling to my stomach.

"Oh no problem sweetie!" She said, putting the car in drive as soon as we put out seat belts on. "Who is this lovely young lady, Carter?"

Curious to his answer, I leaned forward, putting my head on the corner of Carter's seat. He scrunched his eyebrows together as he thought of a response. "Sophia Sparks, mother. I think she's my mate-"

I screamed as my Luna slammed on the breaks. "You're what?" Cars honked as they passed us since we were now sitting in the middle of the road.

"Yeah..."

"That is wonderful! Oh my gosh, my baby is growing up!" Tears started to stream down her cheek, my eyes were popping out of my head. Carter turned and stared at me, I stared back.

He mouthed, 'She's crazy', as she continued to cry.

"Luna, I think we should really get a move on. We're situated in the middle of the road and I don't think you want to have an angry pack warrior on you if I don't get home safely."

"Oh right, you're Lukas' pup." She quickly put the car in gear. The rest of the ride was soon spent in silence, which I was more than thankful for.

My house soon came into view, I smiled as soon as I saw Alex situated on a blanket next to my mom who was picking flowers.

Before I could even blink, Carter was already out, opening the door for me. "Milady," Carter gestured for me to get out, which I did, smiling brightly at my soon-to-be mate.

"Hello Delilah!" My mother beamed, hugging her long time friend. They soon were engrossed in a conversation as my mom picked up Alex and the three went inside.

"So Carter, want to go exploring?" I wiggles my eyebrows, pointing towards the woods. His shaggy hair tossed in the wind as he nodded with a little smirk.
