Toni sipped the red wine for the first time and instantly fell in love. It didn't smell bad and it tasted good.
The waiter finally came back to take their orders.
"What can i get for you." He said.
"I would like the chicken ceaser salad with extra chicken and melt the cheese a lil bit please." She said and he wrote it down.
"What dressing."
"Ranch."
"And for you sir."
"Lemme getta a burger and fries along with some ribs." He said.
"Alright your food should be done in 30 minutes." He said leaving.
"So what you thinking. You hardly said anything to me once we walked in." She said.
"Nun im good." He said and she didn't want to keep asking him. So they sat silently until the food arrived.
"Here You guys go. Just let me know when you guys want the check." He said leaving.
Toni prayed over her food and started to eat her salad. The silence was eating her up and she could have sworn she didn't do anything.
Her phone buzzed and it was just the assignment they were getting tommrow. She didn't like that it said partner work. She didn't trust people with her grades. That and she ended up doing all the work.
"Ain't nun you did so dont feel no typa away. Im just an asshole." He said. He was thinking hard. The last thing he wanted to do was take her happy aura away.
"I forgive you even though i think you should work on your anger. Whatever you feel inside that causes you to get mad or angry you should find it and address it so you can let it go." She said.
"I dont wanna sit here and tell you my life story, cause that's not yo business, but i will say it's not gone be that easy, this who i am. If i feel like somethings being taken away from me i spazz and i felt dude was tryna take you. Honestly i need you. We known each other for a month, but you the only one that isn't extra, tryna use me, you have a good spirit and you remind me of my grandma. You have a bright light and i needed that in my life. Ion want nobody take that away from me." He said. He never was honest like this, but he been through so much Toni didnt even know the half.
"I wanna help you, you don't have to explain to me anything at least not yet." She said.
"Why you so nice. Any other person would bounce because they dont wanna take my shit." He said.
" It doesn't hurt to show people compassion especially when you know they need it." She said. He was in love. Not love love, that will have to take time, but he was in love with her personality and mindset.
"Your amazing." He said and she smiled.
For the rest of the dinner they had fun. No negatives vibes and no sappy talking. They left the restaurant and he took her back to his place.
She took a shower and she put on something that was in one of the bags from the mall earlier today. A simple black crop top and the matching shorts. She left her hair down and curly and went down stairs. She sat next to him and he wrapped his arms around her.
