Y/n and Bruce step through the portal and directly into the workshop. Bruce heads straight upstairs to his old room and y/n goes to her workshop desk. "Hey Rhodes." Y/n say upon seeing her uncle in the workshop.
"Hey kiddo." Rhodey responds. "Decided to stay on earth instead of going to space?"
"Oh yea. I'm too cool for space." Y/n laughs lightly, tossing her glasses onto the table beside your usual workbench and dropping her head to the desk.
"Evening Ms. Stark."
"Oh Secretary Ross. I didn't see you there. Literally." Y/n sasses, lifting her head from the table.
"Remember why you aren't on the raft girl." Y/n holds her hands up in surrender before rolling her eyes and laying her head down.
"You were saying Mr. Secretary?" Rhodey asks, addressing the man to continue with their conversation before y/n walked in.
"Still no word from Vision?" Ross asks.
"Satellites lost him somewhere over Edinburgh." Rhodey states.
"On a stolen quinjet with four of the world's most wanted criminals." Ross nearly shouts.
Y/n slams her hands on the table, anger apparent in her voice and actions as she speaks. "You know they're only criminals because you've chosen to call them that, right?"
"Hey, young lady, remember why-"
"Remember why I'm not on the fucking raft. Yea I get it." Y/n overlaps Ross in a very sarcastic and Stark-like manner.
"If it weren't for those Accords, Vision would've been right here." Rhodey responds.
"I remember your signature on those papers, Colonel." Ross says, standing from the table and moving around the stand in front of Rhodey.
"That's right. And I'm pretty sure I've paid for that." Rhodey says, the gears in his leg braces whirring.
"You have second thoughts?" Ross questions.
"Not anymore."
Suddenly a chime rings through the room and y/n looks towards the door to see Steve and Nat leading the fugitives through the compound. Wanda, Vision and Sam follow behind them, Vis clutching his side while Sam supports him.
"Holy shit Vis! What happened?" Y/n exclaims running to his aide.
"Mr. Secretary." Steve says, glancing at Ross.
"You got some nerve. I'll give you that." Ross responds moving closer to the fugitives.
"You could use some of that right now." Nat sasses.
"The world's on fire. And you think, all is forgiven?" Ross questions Cap.
"I'm not looking for forgiveness. And I'm way past asking for permission. Earth just lost her best defender. So we're here to fight." Cap takes a step forward, looking right into Ross's eyes. "And if you wanna stand in our way... we'll fight you, too."
"Arrest them." Ross turns to Rhodey who nods.
"All over it." Rhodey swipes off the holograms causing the computer to beep twice, signifying the end of the call. "That's a court-martial." Rhodey stands silently before smiling and moves to shake Cap's hand. "It's great to see you, Cap."
"You too, Rhodey." Steve says as Nat hugs Rhodey.
"Well... you guys really look like crap." Y/n laughs helping Sam set Vison into a chair. "Must've been a rough couple of years."
"Yeah, well, the hotels weren't exactly five star." Sam says, causing the group to laugh.
"Uh, I think you look great." Everyone turns to see Bruce enter the workshop. "Uh... heh... Yeah. I'm back."
"Hi, Bruce." Nat says, almost hurt.
"Nat." Banner responds calmly.
"This is awkward." Sam whispers to the group.
"So I'm assuming Banner knows what's going on better than anyone then?" Steve questions.
"Well considering I watched both my father and my boyfriend float into space on a spaceship, I'll have to say he's not the only one." Y/n jumps in.
"So we gotta assume they're coming back, right?" Rhodey asks.
"And they can clearly find us." Wanda says, looking at Vision.
"We need all hands on deck. Where's Clint?" Bruce asks.
"After the whole Accords situation, he and Scott took a deal. It was too tough on their families, they're on house arrest." Natasha tells him
"Who's Scott?" Banner asks.
"Ant-Man." Steve responds.
"There's an Ant-Man and a Spider-Man?" Bruce asks, shocked.
"Oh yea," Sam responds. "And the little princess over there is dating the spider kid." Sam points at y/n smirking.
"What?" Bruce snaps to y/n and she internally groan.
"Okay, thank you Sam!" You sarcastically smile. "Look..." You change the subject. "Thanos has the biggest army in the universe. And he is not gonna stop until he gets Vision's Stone."
"Well then, we have to protect it." Nat says.
"No, we have to destroy it." Everyone snaps around to look at Vision. "I've been giving a good deal of thought to this entity in my head, about its nature. But also, its composition. I think if it were exposed to a sufficiently powerful energy source, something, very similar to its own signature, perhaps... Its molecular integrity could fail." Vision addresses Wanda as he nears her
"And you, with it. We're not having this conversation." Wanda scolds him. "Neither me nor y/n would even think of it, right y/n?"
"Right."
"Eliminating the stone is the only way to be certain that Thanos can't get it." Vis defends.
"That's too high a price." Wanda tells him, firmly.
Vision takes her face gently in both hands. "Only you and y/n have the power to pay it." Wanda walks away, distressed "Thanos threatens half the Universe. One life cannot stand in the way of defeating him."
"But it should." Y/n says. "We don't trade lives, Vis. That's never been our way."
"70 years ago, Captain laid down his life to save how many millions of people. Tell me, why is this any different?" Steve takes a breath, but before he has a chance to answer, Y/n speaks again.
"Because you might have a choice. Your mind, alone, is made up of a complex construct of overlays. J.A.R.V.I.S., Ultron, Tony, Banner, and the Stone. All of them together, learning from one another."
"You're saying Vision isn't just the stone?" Wanda asks, hope in her voice.
"What y/n is saying is that if we take out the stone, there's still a whole lot of Vision left. Perhaps the best parts." Banner explains.
"Can we do that?" Natasha asks.
"Not me. Not here." Banner explains.
"I don't even think my dad could have done it, but I could always check in F.RI.D.A.Y.S. system to see if there is a way we can here.
"You better find someone, someway, and somewhere fast. Ross isn't exactly just gonna let you guys have your old rooms back." Rhodey explains.
"I know somewhere." Steve says.
