Meanwhile, in space, Ebony Maw is interrogating Doctor Strange. Strange is floating horizontally, face down, and is surrounded by dozens of glassy needles, each about two feet long.
"In all the time I've served Thanos, I've never failed him. If I were to reach our rendezvous on Titan with the Time Stone still attached to your vaguely irritating person, there would be judgement." Ebony Maw tells Strange as the needles start to contact Strange's face, causing an obviously painful whitish subcutaneous glow at each touch. "Give me... the stone."
From above, Tony stands hidden, watching the previous events take place. The Cloak of Levitation taps Stark on the arm. He raises his hand to it, ready to shoot, but he sees what it is and stands down.
"Wow you're a seriously loyal piece of outerwear, aren't you?" Tony says to the cloak.
"Yeah, uh, speaking of loyalty-" Tony and the Cloak turn as Peter, drops down from above.
"What the-" Tony moves to react but Peter continues.
"I know what you're gonna say."
"You should not be here." Tony scolds him.
"I was gonna go home-" Peter starts.
"I don't wanna hear it." Tony interrupts but the teenager continues.
"But it was such a long way down and I just thought about you on the way..." Peter continues.
"And now I gotta hear it." Tony exasperatedly says.
"...And I kinda stuck to the side of the ship. And this suit is ridiculously intuitive, by the way. So if anything, it's kinda your fault that I'm here." Peter says and Tony glares at the kid.
"What did you just say?"
"I take that back." Peter says quickly. "And now I'm here in space." He finishes.
"Yeah." Tony says, moving to stand right in front of Peter. "Right where I don't want you to be. This isn't Coney Island. This isn't a field trip. It's a one-way ticket. You hear me? Don't pretend like you thought this through. You could not have possibly thought this through."
"No. I did think this through." Peter interjects.
"You could not have possibly thought this through." Tony tells him.
"You can't be a friendly neighborhood Spider-Man when there's no neighborhood." The two just stare at each other before Peter continues. "That didn't really make any sense, but you know what I'm trying to say."
Tony shakes his head as he sighs. "Yea what about y/n?"
"What about her?"
"What part of one-way ticket did you not get?" Tony lashes. "Her father and her boyfriend are on their way to God knows where in space with no way to get back. How do you think she's feeling right now? How do you think she's feeling knowing that the only two people she has left are probably never coming back?"
"I didn't think..."
"Yea, you didn't. Come on. We got a situation." Tony leads him to the edge and shows him the view of Ebony Maw and Strange. "See him down there? He's in trouble. What's your plan? Go."
"Um. Okay, okay...uh..." Peter analyzes the situation, crouched near the edge. "Okay. Did you ever see this really old movie, Aliens" Peter quickly says, standing up.

After Peter's plan both succeeds and fails at the same time, the hero's focus at the new issue at hand.
"We've gotta turn this ship around." Strange addresses the two other heroes.
"Yeah. Now he wants to run. Great plan." Tony scoff, the suits nano parts returning to their housing unit.
"No, I want to protect the stone." Strange corrects.
Tony walks towards the expansive front viewport as he speaks. "And I want you to thank me now. Go ahead, I'm listening."
"For what? Nearly blasting me into space?" Strange asks.
"Who just saved your magical ass? Me."
"I seriously don't know how you fit your head into that helmet." Strange mumbles.
"Admit it. You should have ducked out when I told you to. I tried to bench you. You refused."
"Unlike everyone else in your life, I don't work for you." Strange interupts but Tony continues on.
"And due to that fact, we're now in a flying doughnut billions of miles away from Earth with no backup."
"I'm backup." Peter speaks up, his right hand raising.
"No. You're a stowaway." Tony glares at him. "The adults are talking." Tony shakes a finger between him and Srange.
"I'm sorry, I'm confused as to the relationship here. Wh-what is he, your ward?" Strange asks confused.
"No. I'm Peter, by the way. I'm dating Mr. Stark's daughter." Peter tells him, holding his hand out to shake Strange's
"Doctor Strange."
"Oh, we're using our made-up names. Um... I'm Spider-Man, then." Peter stumbles over his words. Strange shakes his head and moves to the area Tony stands in, attempting to make a plan to get home. Peter steps off the the side and fishes his phone from the little slot designed to hold it. The screen lights up to show no service but the picture of him and y/n from homecoming last year is in perfect view. The photo was Peter's favorite and was the only photo of him with her that he kept on his phone, he even set it as his wallpaper so he could see it every day.
Peter gets lost in his thoughts and the sound of footsteps moving towards him breaks him from his trance. Peter looks up to see Tony coming towards him and he quickly stands. Tony formally taps each of Peter's shoulders with the edge of his hand, dubbing him as is done at a knighting. "Alright, kid. You're an Avenger now." He doesn't look at him as he says those words, knowing well what he is signing him up for. Peter looks at Tony in disbelief, and then cycles through delight, satisfaction, pride and determination, and braces himself for what's to come. Peter's thoughts slowly cycle back to y/n. Silently telling himself that he's gonna make it back for her.
