on my seventeenth birthday , you took me to an amusement park and when the fireworks were playing , you told me that you had fallen for me. i was taken aback. i wanted to say yes , i really did. but , i wasn't ready for another relationship. the heartbreak from the previous relationship left me scarred and i swore to not date anytime soon. truth to be told , i was starting to lose hope in love. so , i said no. your face fell , i saw it. but you smiled at me and pushed your fingers through your auburn hair. the move that could make every girl at school swoon. you told me it's okay , i didn't believe you. but i didn't want to press any further. so i said okay and returned to watching the fireworks. autumn came around and the weather became colder. i was always a child with a weak immunity system which meant i tend to fall sick a lot more. i thought that after your confession and my rejection things would be different between us, however , you still came around everyday with strawberry milk and your bright smile to go to school with me.
