After a while of wandering and staring at each of the portals around you, you eventually came to a decision about which portal you wanted to go through.
You stood in front of the portal arch that you had choosen and looked at the way the way that it was decorated.
It was a colorless stone arch with intricate regal looking designs lightly carved into the stone, the columns of the arch are carved to look similar to coffins, the middle of the top part of the arch is carved to look like a bat with smaller bats being carved into the stone around it.
You took in the appearance of the arch before nodding your head.
"Is that the portal arch that you want to go through?" Lilac spoke up.
"Yeah" you turned to look at her.
"Very well then, I shall open it up for you..." she answered.
Lilac moved to stand by the glass orb in the middle of the room, she hovered her hands over it with a look of focus on her face.
Soon enough a pink aura began to appear within the glass orb which soon began to phase through the glass and towards the portal arch looking like a pink mist as it went.
The pink misty aura formed an orb in the middle of the arch and the orb soon began to stretch and turn into a portal that you were unable to see anything through.
"Remember, dear... The portal will open again on new years but I'll only keep it open for a few hours before closing it forever... So don't take too long..." she reminded you.
"Got it..." you nodded.
"Well if you've got it then get going then..." she commanded.
You turned towards the portal and hoped in your head that whatever monster was on the other side wouldn't be too cruel to you.
You stepped through the portal and immediately felt rather cold upon stepping through as Lilac closed the portal behind you.
"Geez... Where is this place? Alaska?" you asked no one.
You untied the flannel from around your waist and slipped it on like a jacket as you looked around at the area around you.
You found that you were in the middle of a small garden full of dark red roses that would have looked black if it wasn't for the gothic looking lamp posts illuminating the garden.
You looked away from the garden to find that you couldn't see much considering how dark it was at night but the gothic lanp posts scattered arounnd helped you to see somethings in the distance.
You could see a large and regal looking mansion in the distance whose residents seemed to be awake judging by all of the lights that were coming through the windows of the home.
And looking past the mansion, you could make out a rather large and thick lookinng wall that stretched across the entire area with the only way out being an iron gate at the front of the mansion but it looked like that would only lead into the wilderness judging by the trees and mountains that you could see stretching over the wall.
"I guess that there's probably nothing for me that way..." you thought to yourself as you looked away from the iron gate. "So if there's a monster in this place then all I have to do is survive until new years and I'll be fine... That shouldn't be so hard... I mean with how dark it is right now, i'd imagine that it'd be pretty hard for them to figure out that I'm here for at least a while..."
You began to get lost in your thoughts that you didn't notice one of the silhouettes wandering the grounds pass by the gardens and notice you.
"So all I would have to do is stay hidden during the day and be careful to not get spotted during the night... But where would I hide?" you thought to yourself. "And who is the monster that lives in this place? I'd have to learn that first in order to find a good hiding place..."
