Saudah's POV

I woke up to the sound of my phone's incessant ringtone, feeling annoyed. Ignoring it, I attempted to continue sleeping. However, the throbbing pain in my head from staying up late the previous night made it difficult. The phone rang persistently, becoming increasingly irritating, forcing me to finally answer.

"What?!" I groggily responded without bothering to check the caller's name.

"Good morning to you too, yeodongsaeng (baby sister)," my elder brother Nabeel, who studies in Korea, greeted.

"Ya, Nabeel, what's up?" I replied, managing a slight smile.

"Of course, yeodongsaeng. How are you doing?" he asked.

"I'm fine, just dealing with a headache. I didn't get much sleep last night," I yawned, yearning for more sleep.

"Oh, right. The wedding concluded yesterday. May Allah bless the couple. How's Mom doing?"

"Amin. They're all doing well. When are you coming back?" I truly miss him, along with my other brother.

"Soon, baby sis, soon," he reassured, his voice carrying a hint of a smile.

"Okay, then. Bye, I need my beauty sleep," I said, knowing he would find it amusing. They all understand how much I value my sleep, and I become quite irritable when someone wakes me up.

He chuckled and replied, "Alright then, catch you later," before ending the call. I smiled and drifted back to sleep. However, my beloved alarm had different plans, interrupting my slumber once again. Being the sleep-obsessed person I am, I disregarded it and continued to sleep like a baby.

😴😴😴😴😴

As it turns out, ignoring my alarm clock proved to be a terrible idea, as I woke up three hours late. I was supposed to be at the restaurant by 8, but I didn't wake up until 11. Nonetheless, I did manage to get the much-needed beauty sleep, so I deemed it worth it!

I leisurely took a shower before getting dressed in a simple yet elegant white abaya, opting for no makeup since I'm not particularly fond of it.

Grabbing my bag and phone, I exited my room and found Falisha in the living room, engrossed in an episode of Game of Thrones. She's absolutely obsessed with that show, I must say.

Today being Monday, I'm heading to the restaurant because Anty Hafsa's visiting today. I would've left for Dubai today, but because of the visit, I'm now leaving tomorrow.

If you're wondering about Syna's wedding, then Alhamdullilah, it was eventful. Don't ask me what happened.

"Bye Lisha, I'm heading out," I said, going towards the door.

"Ok, bye!" She yelled back, not looking away from the TV.

Mommy is out with Jaly, while Daddy's at work like always, so it's just I and Lisha left alone in the house. Now it's just Lisha, she doesn't mind staying at home alone as long as there's TV, an internet connection, and food, she's all good. She's not the only one, though; I can survive my entire life too with just those three things.

I entered my car and drove off to my restaurant. I exchanged pleasantries with the workers before getting to work.

The chefs are not here yet, so it's up to me to make it all, and I'm more than glad to do that. I love cooking so much; I mean, who doesn't?

An hour or so later, I heard voices outside. I kept the dishes I made aside, removed my apron, and walked out with a friendly smile on my face.

I saw Anty Hafsa with one of my waiters as she was talking to the waitress. When she saw me, the smile on her face grew wider, if that's even possible.
