Saudah's POV
Dubai, United Arab Emirates
"Let's get you out of here," he said, and I nodded, still unable to talk. I still haven't fully recovered from what happened earlier.
What could've happened to me if Anwar hadn't shown up?
I couldn't help but think of the worst. What could've really happened? I owe him one. But wait, how does he know I'm here, and what is he doing here?
Could he be following me?
Nahhh, I don't think so; it's impossible. I'm not that important to him. He just said he likes me. Just the thought of that brings back the butterflies in my tummy and my heart skipping a beat.
I still remember when he said that to me three days ago. After that, till they left, none of us said a word more to one another until when they were gonna leave, he said, "I'll see you soon babe, sooner than you think."
At that time, I thought we'll only meet when I come back, but now, I realize it's really sooner than I thought. And not to mention the effects his choice of endearment had on me. He really needs to stop saying that.
I didn't realize that I was still standing there lost in my thoughts till I heard his voice.
"Are you coming or not?" His voice, it wasn't like the caring and warm voice he used earlier. No, this is different; the care was still there but the warmth is replaced by... anger?
Why is he angry? Is it because of those jerks? Wait, was he serious about what he said to those guys?
I ignored those thoughts and followed him to who knows where. A minute or two later, we stopped by the roadside where a sleek Maserati Ghibli 2019 was parked.
"Get in," he said, opening the door for me.
I got in, and he closed the door for me. He went to his side and entered before driving off.
I don't know where he's driving to, and I really don't care; I'm too tired, and I'm already having a bit of a headache. I rested my head back and closed my eyes.
He doesn't even know that I stay in Hotel Sofitel, and I wouldn't tell him.
The car ride was eerily quiet. No one talked. I wanted to say something, but he seems pretty mad at something, and I'm really not in the mood for it.
I only opened it when the car stopped. I opened the door and went out without waiting for him to open it for me.
There I stood in front of another 5-star hotel, and not just any hotel, Emirates Palace!
"What are we doing here?" I asked.
"My sister's here; you're staying with her," he said, walking ahead, not even giving me a room to protest.
I sighed and followed him inside the breathtaking hotel. He checked in and collected the room card before heading to the elevator.
The elevator ride was the same as that of the car, quiet.
When it opened, we walked to a room, and he opened it. Immediately we stepped in, he was engulfed in a tight bear hug by a woman; I think it's his sister.
"Anwar, so today you remember me, koh?" She said, releasing him from the embrace. He smiled, a genuine smile that I haven't seen him do in three days, and I have to admit he really looks so handsome when he smiles.
"Haba Aami, Ai bama haka. I was just caught up with work and with Ahmed's wedding," he replied, making her smile widely.
"I know you won't forget me; I was just joking."
