The rest of Clairia's day was spent looking at maps of the local area. She followed the hunting patterns of supposed wolf attacks to pinpoint a location of ruins on the edge near a narrow mountain pass. Clairia had already chosen her route by nightfall as she made dinner for the hungry hunters. She then went to her room after dinner and packed for her journey. The pack lived three days away from her town and she knew she could make it there by dawn. This was going to be a long trip and if she got into trouble no help would come fast enough to save her. Her fate was a cruel one anyway so this was a necessary risk in order to achieve her end goal and she was prepared to die.Clairia had done what she could here while the hunters had her on house arrest but she needed to get out and stretch her legs anyway."Lass don't be stupid and just vanish."Gear war was leaning in her bedroom doorway with his arms crossed. He glared at her while she thought if looks could kill. It mattered little to her at this point however when she zipped up the duffle bag containing several silver blades."You gonna tell daddy?"She teased him but was fully prepared to lock him in her room in order to escape. The others would be asleep because she drugged their tea and food. Gear war was immune to most toxins so she wasn't surprised he was awake.

"Nope I'm going with you. You have trouble follow you wherever you go so ya need me."He said with confidence as he flexed his muscles. The gesture made her smirk as she threw the duffle over her shoulder and pulled up her trench coat hood."We have a long road ahead so let's go."She said as she threw him a gun with silver bullets. Clairia hoped to befriend the wolves but was prepared to fight if necessary. She quietly opened her back door and stepped into the quiet night as Gear war shut it with a soft click. Cairia jumped to a tall branch while gripping Gear war's shirt collar and then placed him on the branch."There's a mountain pass to the east of here. We can get there by dawn if we book it the whole way. Think you can keep pace dead guy?"Clairia said as Gear war made bone wings and armor out of skeleton ribs."Yeah I think I can manage. I was born ready."He laughed when Clairia launched into the sky using her power for wings. She soared to the east against the black sky in an effort to hide her power. She thought about using a broom but decided against it. It would only play on stereotypes anyway.

There was nothing in her way as she stared below her to see city lights below decorating the dark earth. This was freedom, not being restricted by gravity and standard means of travel. Her mind had become an endless well of possibility at what she could achieve with this power. The earth was silent under her almost as beautiful as a painting. The power in her thrummed in her veins with every beat of her heart. The sky lit by stars that dotted it like diamonds was a breathtaking sight and the wind cooled her heated skin. This was just the beginning of her ability to experience new things. There was an entire world to explore after all.She felt endless and like the birds she once envied. Love gave her flight in her heart but to experience it in body was euphoric. Clairia had flown until dawn where she landed above the clan's camp to observe them before she made a move.Gear war landed beside her as quietly a she could and then huffed."How do you want to work this?"He asked Clairia as she moved from one high point to another."Wait for me at the mouth of the pass. If I don't return in two days time go back to my house and bring the others."She replied before flying off to land at the entrance of the camp and put her hands above her head.

The wolves snarled and snapped as they approached her which she responded without fear. The biggest of the wolves can to rest his nose to her face and opened his mouth wide as he roared. Clairia met his gesture with one of her own letting him know she was not afraid. His mouth closed as he met her eyes in a suspicious glare."If you have something to say I'm waiting."She responded. His body twisted back to standing on hind legs as he turned back to a naked man."You do not belong here witch,go back to your people or we will be forced to act."He growled."I need answers on the witch of the woods and your people are the only ones who know the answers I seek. I will not leave here until I have them."Clairia spoke calmly to the male while keeping her eyes glued to his face."We owe you nothing witch, leave. We know of you,the hunter who resides in the small town to the south west of here. I will consider this an act of war and destroy that town unless you turn back."He said in Clairia's face as he lifted her off her feet.

"If you know of me why not kill me?I have not told anyone where I went and I told you I'm not leaving unless I speak to one of your elders. I came to find a solution to keep your sacred witch of the woods alive before an entire army of hunters come and destroy her and your pack. I want to prevent a slaughter and needless deaths of both your people and mine. Why can't you use that canine brain of your and see it for yourself. She has returned to our world and will destroy all of humanity if I don't do something."Clairia spoke with authority. The man met her eyes once more with a look of thought as he threw her to the ground."You are nothing more than a nuisance to me. I do not wish for a war with the hunters over a little bitch who doesn't know her place. Run home."He growled as he turned his back to Clairia.Clairia got to her knees and placed her head to the ground."Please help me. If not for your people then for the witch you hold so dear. I only want to keep the peace that this place has become famous for."Clairia had not moved as she heard his feet hit the ground in front of her.

"You are a strange one woman. I'll see what the chief want to do with you then. You willingly give your life for humanity that hates you so much?"He spoke softly."Humanity may hate me but I don't hate humanity. I will give anything to save my family that I hold so dear. They are human both my husband and my father. The witch has my father's soul and the man who raised me is suffering. I can't just let him exist like a shell of himself,I am out of options.I would rather die than let my husband and father be taken by the witch from me knowing I could of done something to stop it."Clairia's eyes filled with tears as she met the man's eyes in anguish. There was nothing that hurt her more then not being able to save the people she loved. Her hands were cuffed as she was brought into the camp with a rough tug. The man walked ahead of her with silence as she followed behind silently hoping to receive the answers she sought or die trying.
