Once she got to the airport to find Adrien. She tried calling him about a thousand times and he didn't answer to no avail. She ran through every terminal and looked at every flight that had taken off, or was about to take off to New York. She saw only one now and one earlier in the morning. She went to the flight and saw that the people hadn't started boarding yet. And Adrien Wasn't there.
Did he take the earlier flight? Is he in the bathroom? I'll wait. Do I look desperate?
She sat in the chair next to the boarding area and waited. But she never got an answer cause he never showed. Marinette went to the bathroom.
"Tikki I don't know where he could be!"
"I wish I knew Marinette"
"Do you think he didn't leave yet?"
"Chat noir's Kwamii feels very far away... I think he let Marinette."Why did I do this to her? Why did I put the girl I love through so much pain? I should call her. Wait I can't. It would seem too desperate. I need this. We need time. She was right. I need time to fall out of love. But it will be impossible.
Days went by. Marinette tried to call Adrien but eventually gave up. Then weeks came. They were still grieving eachothers loss. They both had to face the fact that maybe they weren't meant for eachother. Maybe they had a different seating or maybe their paths would cross again. It was a tough pill to swallow. But after a couple months it became easier to take in. But slowly, Marinette's path started to shift to a guy with black and blue hair. The guy who was always there but she didn't realize how much he meant he her until now.
"How have you been holding up with this crazy schedule Marinette?"
Luka said to her as they walked home from their last class of the day at college. They've started to do this daily since their colleges are so close and they enjoyed each other's company.
"I'm working through it I guess..." she stopped. "How have you been Luka?"
"Not to bad myself ma-ma-Marinette. You seem sad though"
"Adrien and I broke up." It was silent between the two of them for a moment.
"I'm really sorry to hear that." They approached the bakery since Marinette didn't dorm cause she lived close enough to the school. She was silent for a little bit but he could tell she needed it.
"Do you want to feel better?" He asked after a bit.
"... yeah I guess." She said solemnly. He sighed and knew this wasn't the right time.
"I think you need to rest. Take a day off. You can watch chick flicks, eat your favorite ice cream, in your cat noir pjs." Marinette laughed but his name made her a heart clench a bit.
"Luka you know me too well."
"He dropped her off at her front porch and watched as she waved goodbye and shut the door. His mouth cracked a smile and he went on his way home thinking of a new song to write.
When Marinette closed the door she felt something she hadn't felt from another person other than Adrien in a while. She felt butterflies in her stomach. She couldn't get his smile out of her head. It made her blush but she shook it off. She walked upstairs and her parents hugged her after they heard about the break up. She hugged them back and went up to her room. It hurt her a lot, losing her first love. But Luka did make it a bit better.
Later that night she got a ring on the doorbell and her parents said it was for her. She opened it and found a basket sitting there. It was a basket filled with her favorite ice cream, her favorite chick flick and a blanket. She knew it was form Luka and she gladly picked it up and had a great night. Little did she know, that Luka was about to put a special CD in there for her.... but he thought it was too soon to tell her how he really felt. He'd been holding it in for a while.
Meanwhile with Adrien...
He regretted it. He regretted everything. He regretted not saying goodbye to her. Not telling her that he loved her one more time to see if she would be on his again. He messed up but in the back of his mind she was the one who broke up with him.
Why do destiny and love always collide? He started to wonder and hope that it was just a right person wrong time scenario, but his hope was rapidly fading. He too had an unexpected person enter his life.
"Uh Adrien?"
"Oh? Uh hi Kagami."
"Hi Adrien I just wanted to apologize for my childish behavior in high school. I should have never acted that way. I guess I was always so jealous of how you always liked someone who wasn't me... haha."
"Oh it's ok Kagami.... I forgot we went to colleges near each other."
"I guess I'll see you around Agreste. Or should I say old fencing partner?"
"Haha Cya around Kagami."
He remembered when he liked her long ago. Maybe he would talk to her soon but for now, he was mourning the loss of his lady.
