"I didn't know you were back in town." Nikita said as her and her former teacher sat in a booth at the grill. "I'm just visiting." Matthew answered. "You're a vampire." Nikita stated. "Yes I am. For a while now." She frowned. "Have you always been one?" She asked. He nodded. "Yes I have." Nikita couldn't believe that she didn't sense it sooner. "Did I ever find out?" She asked. Matthew you nodded. "You did but I compelled you to forgot it in order to protect you." He answered truthfully. Nikita bit her lip.
She was about to speak up when a familiar hybrid made his way to the booth.
"Oh look it's my new favorite murderer. Whose this guy?" Kai asked while sliding into the booth next to Nikita.
She glared at him while Matthew looked at him with furrowed eyebrows.
"Nik, who the hell is he?" Matthew asked. "Sorry, Kai Parker." Matthew glared at the heretic. He then looked at Nikita with questioning eyes. She sighed. "It's a crazy story." She mumbled. Kai clapped his hands. "Man I love this story." He said excitedly.
Nikita shifted uncomfortably.
"My family tried to kill me." She stated. Matthew's eyes widened and he clenched his jaw. Kai noticed the vampire get angry. "I ended up killing them all." She finished. "That explains the burnt down house." Matthew muttered. "Yeah." She mumbled while playing with her hands. "What're you doing here though? I would've left the state." Nikita sighed. "Oh she did. I found her in the woods all dirty and watery eyes. She passed out and I was gonna leave her there but my witch friend forced me to take her." Kai answered. Matthew glared at him. "Once again who the hell is he?" Matthew asked annoyed. "Him and his friends found me in the woods and took me into their home. I've been laying low there for the day while trying to figure out what the hell I am. Being the family reject and all I didn't get to learn much about the type of witch I am." Nikita told her friend. Kai tilted his head to the side and looked over at her. "How'd you even learn magic if your parents hated you so much?" Kai asked.
Nikita frowned. How did she learn magic? She couldn't remember who taught her.
"I-um I can't remember." She muttered confused. She looked up at Matthew. "Why can't I remember who taught me magic?" She asked. Matthew shrugged his shoulders. "You're lying." Kai stated. Matthew glared at him. "I may be a newbie vampire but I can hear your heartbeat and you're lying. So why don't you tell mystic falls newest whack job where she learned her magic before I rip out your spleen." Kai's voice was dark and Nikita looked at him appalled at his choice of words. He smiled at her. He was definitely crazy. "Matthew why can't I remember?" Nikita asked again. "Because it was too dangerous for you to know." Her eyes widened. "You taught me magic?" She asked. "No another witch did. I used to have her come over to help you harness your magic so you wouldn't explode and kill your entire family." He told her. Nikita looked at the table shocked. She looked back up at him. "Does she know anything about what type of witch I am?" Nikita asked. Her eyes were full of hope. Kai sighed getting bored with the conversation. "She never said anything about it but you can ask her." Nikita's eyes lit up. "Where can I find her?" Nikita asked. "She lives in Charlotte. I'll give you the address but Nikita be careful. The witches want you dead and if they find you, you are."
