[17]I Like You For My Cousin

Chapter 17

Kinabukasan I visited her again in  the Hospital

Papasok palang ako ng Hospital when I saw a familiar face standing at the entrance of the Hospital

Naglalakad palang ako papalapit sa direksyon nya at nginitian nya na ako agad.

Oh,it was Sam

"Hi,why are you here?" Sabi ko sa kanya

"I was actually waiting for you" nakangiting sabi nya

"Huh? Why"

"Our Relatives just arrived to visit Stay hahah sounds cool right? I know you want me to call my cousin like that right? Hahaha"

Then she laughed,Oo nga,hindi nya pa natatawag na stay si scarlet

"Then her room now is so..so..crowded so I decided to go here outside and I was actually starving right now so....do you mind if I'll ask you to eat with me outside? Please...please.." then she pouted her lips like a child then she hug my arms

At napangiti nalang ako sa kanya

"Ok..,ok..let's go" sabi ko sa kanya

Habang kumakain kami napansin kong biglang tumahimik si Sam hanggang sa matapos kaming kumain ay hindi parin sya nagsasalita.

"So should we go back now to the hospital?" I ask

"Aah...I want something sweet,can we buy some ice cream there?" Sabay turo nya

"But I'm already full" sabay hawak ko sa tiyan ko

"I want to see scarlet now" at naglakad na ako pabalik sa Hospital

"We-we..wait,let's have a stroll" at pinigilan nya ako

"What? Sam tell me the truth? What is bothering you co'z I've just notice a while ago you were really quiet and now it's like you don't want me to see scarlet.what's happening Sam?"

"Nothing is bothering me,Im....fully ok! Yah, I'm fine, Scarlet is fine and were all fine hehehe" and she gave me weak smile

"Sam come here" at hinila ko sya.tumabi muna kami sa kalsada

"Sam tell me the truth, Is scarlet ok?" And I look her straight into the eye

Then she nodded

"No, I want you to speak. I'm gonna ask you again.Is Scarlet ok?"

Then the expression of her face suddenly changed.

Then she look at me

"Scarlet is actually..."

And seems like she was about to cry.my hand is shaking and I felt something heavy into my chest and also my breathing isn't normal now.

Kinakabahan ako sa sasabihin nya

"Please say it"

And my voice became shaky

"She..she..rushed  into the ICU the time that you arrived"

At Napaatras ako

"But she's going to be fine, just...."

Hindi ko na pinatapos ang sasabihin ng Sam ng tumakbo ako pabalik sa Hospital

"Hey Hyunjin come back!"

Sam shouted pero hindi ko na sya pinansin.why she didn't tell me earlier?

I want to see her now, I want to see scarlet!

.....

As I'm on my way to the ICU someone called me

"Hey, Hyunjin!"

I look back and it's Sam who's following me

"This way" she said

Akala ko pipigilan na naman nya ako

Pagkadating namin I saw Scarlet parent's  crying and also some unfamiliar faces baka mga kamag anak nila

"She's there inside" sam said

Lumapit naman ako pero wala akong makita kasi there are curtains covering everywhere

"Damn it!"

At napasipa naman ako at napaupo sa sahig.

I take a deep sigh and I look up at the ceiling trying to reminisce all what she said to me yesterday,sabi nya magpapagaling sya,sabi nya lalaban sya.

And I just cried after remembering those words that she said yesterday

Sam Immediately comforted me

"Is she going to be fine?" I ask

"Yes,of course.but I think you have to go home for now Hyunjin"

"What?"

"Scarlet know all of this,She knows that this day would happen,this day actually.
And she said to me that she don't want you to go here,she don't want you to see her situation she don't want to see you crying,to see you hurt and everything that's why she ask me for a favor,she ask me to make ways, for you to not see her situation now.But I know that you want to see her so badly that's why I tell you the truth but....I have to keep my promise to my cousin.So Just go home"

"No! I don't want to go home, I want to see her I want to know the result,I want know if she's going to be ok"

"Please Hyunjin just listen to me, she don't want you to get hurt ok? So just go home"

"No..!!No..!!"

At nakatayo na ako ngayun habang pinipigilan ako ni Sam

"Please...Do this for Scarlet. And we have to accept what will be the result is.So for now just be calm ok? Just go home for now and I will be calling you.Give me your phone"

At binigay ko sa kanya ang cellphone ko.then she get my number and she also saved her number

"I promise to call you right away when the doctor came out ok?"

And I just nodded

Sinamahan ako ni Sam na lumabas ng Hospital eventhough I don't want to.but as what she said,that was scarlet want me to do kaya pumayag nalang ako.

"I'll call you if it's succesful but if I didn't call you, you know what that means ok?"

And I just look at her with my eyes full of sadness

"You know hyunjin...sometimes we have to accept reality in life.life has always been unfair.and it was really hard especially for us,her family that she's been going through this kind of struggle into her life we..we love her so much and we don't want her to lose in our lives.You know, we are suffering from the same pain right now.Hyunjin I understand you"

Then she hug me

"Thank you Sam.Ok,so...I'm gonna go home now"

Then she smiled

Hindi pa man ako nakakalayo at bigla siyang sumigaw

"BY THE WAY, I LIKE YOU FOR MY COUSIN!"

Then I look back and smiled at her then she wave and she went back inside
