Sonya's Pov:
After talking some sense to both brenda and jorge , brenda decided to come with us.
We are all walking down the plain white corridors , one guard on our back , to lead us to the right room , and just to make sure no one will do anything stupid.
After reaching a bolted metal door , with a small screen on the side for security purposes. We got inside the room , there they were , my old teacher , lin. Along with ava and two other woman wearing a white lab coat.
The room , looks like one of the observation rooms. It has a long metal tables with specific tools and equipments on top of it , a few stools , and on the middle of the room is , a horde of monitors with different images in each of one of them. And both left and right corner walls of the room , has a two way mirror.
Lin approached us , looking at me with joy and relief in her eyes. I smile at her sadly , and got swallowed up by a hug from her.
"I thought you wont remember me too. You're okay now." She said in reassurance.
"Yeah..." is all I can come up , not really knowing what to say.
After pulling from the hug , she glance at gally and smiled at him , gally returned the gesture. "You have gotten tall over the years... i missed you guys so much." She said , her glossy eyes keeps looking at us back and forth.
"Where is he?" I ask , in a very low tone keeping a calm composure. I revert my gaze from her , looking at the monitors inside the room. I notice one of the screen showing a very familiar blonde locks and the other screen is showing a brunette boy sitting up in the bed reading a book in his hands.
"He's on the left room. We've already stopped IV of suppressants , so he'll probably wake up in a few minutes." Lin said , trying to hide that she is currently upset by the outcome of this.
I just nodded at her and slowly walk across the room and started to enter the left room. I try to stop the forming lump in my throat , just by the thought that I might lose my brother again.
My eyes started to blurr , filling it with tears that are threatening to fall. I swallowed the lump in my throat but it only made my eyes more blurry. I have too keep calm.
After opening the door with a shaking hand , i see newt's figure on the white room , he is wearing a plain white clothes but what caught my attention is his pale skin. Almost like he has lost a lot of blood.
I manage to hold out the incoming sobs while walking through the room to get to him.
His breathing is normal , his face looks like he's in peace. He seem to be more peaceful when he's lying on the bed. The harsh truth is he is slowly losing his life. Every wasted second , he loses time. And I can't help but think the worse.
I stand just beside his bed , not daring to touch him , for i might break down , which will not help the situation. Im trying to be strong and hold out my emotions. Im trying to stay calm
The others didn't come inside the room , probably giving me sometime to cope at the situation of my brother.
A sudden creak from the bed brought me back from my wandering thoughts. I look at the slim figure in the bed and see his head tilt.
I kneel down right beside the bed so I can be more closer to him. He slowly open his eyes , and see me. I took him just a split second to process who the person that is infront of him.
He hug me so tightly , saying my name with ful of joy. I keep hearing him mutter apologies and hear his muffled sobs , I just ushered him that im okay now and everything is going to be alright.
"Im sorry..." he repeated , much to my dismay I see his puffy red eyes and started to feel sad , he is still blaming himself for what happened to me.
"Its okay... im okay..." i said , in a very soft tone , full of reassurance in my voice. I wipe his face that is full of tears and smiled at him.
He was about to say something , when he started cough raggedly , he almost sound like a person with a very severe cough. I immediately panicked and stand up not knowing what to do.
He started coughing more loudy , he covered his mouth but to no avail , a see blood trickle between his fingers , but he still continue to cough.
"Newt! What do I do?" I said in panic. Putting my shaking hand on his shoulder.
Before he could even answer , the door burst open , revealing lin holding out a few towels. She quickly closed the door and ran to newt.
"Okay , newt. This is just like a panic attack..." she said , holding out a towel infront of newt , newt took the towel and covered his mouth , I took one of the towel and started to wipe blood that covered his hand.
"You need to breath newt , you need to calm down. Breath with me okay." Lin said , while newt look her in the eye. Lin then started to take a deep breath and newt copied her actions.
It took about 5 minutes before newt recovered from that so called panic attack and calmed down. He thank lin for helping her.
I was silently crying while wiping his mouth of blood. He look at me symphathetically , "Please don't cry , I will be okay..." he said , holding out my shoulder.
I just wipe away the tears that keeps falling , a flood of negative thoughts keeps pooling my mind. I just cant shake the thought that I might lose my brother again. I manage to gave him a smile to assure him that I will be fine.
"Where is everyone?" Newt ask , after I finished wiping his mouth from blood.
"They're outside , waiting for me to tell them to come in." Lin explained , she then handed newt a green sweater , one that used to belong to him , when we still are being kept inside wicked facilities.
Newt look at the sweater with recognition , remembering the clothe that was once his. He thank lin before wearing it on top of his white shirt. "Before we let them in , you need to know something first..." lin started , newt look at her his full attention is on her now.
Lin then started to explain the situation of thomas. He was awfully quiet while listening to her. I hear his heartbeat starting to rise up , I hold his hand trying to help him stay calm , he just nod realizing that I noticed the sudden panic in him.
"Okay... I didn't expect this..." he said in disapoointment , "But I'll-I'll just talk to him. To explain everything to him." He said in a very calm tone. It almost scared me to hear him this calm , he was almost like he is trying not to lose hope and stay calm in front of everyone.
