Sky knew she saw a forest in her vision, so she tried looking for a forest. The compass seemed to be back; guiding her through the forest when she thought she was lost.

Finally she reached a very big hill covered in grass. Something told her this was the spot. She took a deep breath and walked to the other side. There was an opening she assumed was the entrance. She walked around and found what she was looking for. "Stardust!" She creaked happily as she ran straight towards the foal.

Stardust looked up, alarmed. Sky ran up to her and immediately started nuzzling her. Stardust was weirded out. "Um, can I help you?"

For a split second Sky was surprised and hurt Stardust didn't remember her. Then she thought, oh, right, I look way different than she remembers. "It's me," Sky said. She looked straight into her eyes.

Stardust gasped. "S-S-Sky? Is it really you?" With tears in her eyes, Sky nodded happily. "Oh, Sky!" They nuzzled together and cried tears of joy for several minutes.

After the two of them settled down, Stardust said, "What are we waiting for? Come in!" They settled into her grassy hill.

"Interesting home choice," Sky said.

Stardust laughed. "Well, not everyone can live in a waterfall."

"So, Mother, if you don't mind my asking, um, I thought you were dead? What happened to you?"

Sky chuckled and repeated the story to her daughter. "And so, after today I'm leaving for heaven. I can't wait! I especially can't wait till you're with me again." She gushed.

Stardust frowned. "Um, actually..." she explained how she was invincible and couldn't die or age. "I guess the only way I'd ever see you again is if the world ends."

This made Sky very sad. "Don't tell Chase, but... you've always been my favorite."

Stardust smiled with tears in her eyes. "Don't worry. I won't tell him. I couldn't even if I wanted to. I haven't seen him in 4,000 years."

Sky grinned. "They found the waterfall. You really should go visit sometime. It's about time you met your niece."

Stardust's eyes went wide. "I-I have a niece?!"

Sky nodded. "Yes!" Her name is Blackboots. She was only a newborn when I met her, but she's adorable. I'm sure she'd love her Aunt Stardust!"

"So, before I leave... forever... is there anything you'd like to get off your chest? I mean, you  might as well, since it'll be awhile before we meet again."

Stardust looked uncomfortable. "Um, uh, nope," she mumbled.

Sky was getting suspicious. "Oh, come on. Now I know there's something. Spill."

Stardust couldn't hold it in any longer. In a tone Sky'd never head, she said, "Once upon a time, there were several dragons. One day, a hunter discovered them and captured all of them. They all died. All but one."

Sky cocked an eyebrow. This was getting strange. "Stop. Can I ask you something? And you have to tell the truth." Sky closed her eyes and said, "Stardust, just who exactly are you?"

Stardust looked away for a moment and said, "I am Stardust Remedious, daughter of Night Sky and Remedious."

Sky was confused. "Okay, first of all, who is Remedious?"

Stardust lifted her wing to reveal... scales?! Remedious was... the last dragon. He's long gone. I'm the only one and now I can't even pass it on."

Sky was still confused. "Wait, did you say I was your birth mother? Come on, we both know that's not true. Did you not know your real mother?"

Stardust bit her lip. "Sky?"

"Yes, Star?"

"You are my real mother."

Once again, Sky was taken aback. "What? No way! Not possible! I don't know any dragons! How come I don't remember, then? I've never even had a mate!" Then, she gasped. "Midnight..."

"Huh?"

Sky went on to tell her all about Midnight.

"Yup, sounds about right. Did I mention Remedious can shape-shift?" Stardust asked her. "I guess he couldn't let anyone know he was a dragon. He had to pass his powers on one way or another. He has magic, I guess he put you in a deep sleep."

"Okay, so maybe I don't remember having yo, but why did I have to re-adopt you? Why couldn't someone just tell me you were my child?"

Stardust shook her head. "I had to learn to control my powers. But it sure was lucky you found me again."

"And your father...?"

"I haven't seen him since."

"So, is there anything else you'd like to tell me?" Sky questioned.

Stardust nodded. "There's more," she confessed. "I am the Light Guardian. There's different kinds of Guardians, one for each element. You were going to be a Guardian too, but... well, you know..."

"It's okay. I'm about to serve my real purpose." Sky looked outside. It was getting dark. "It's about time for me to go. But, before  do, I have a surprise for you. I hope you enjoy."

Sometimes I look up at the sky, and I wonder why?

Why is all this crazy stuff happening to me?

But then I look up at the sky, and I know it'll be alright.

It will get better, eventually!

And if you ever want to cry

'Cause I'm no longer by your side

Promise me one thing

That you'll look up at the sky, because now you know why

And think of me

Seems like my story is more than done, yours has barely just begun

Please don't cry for me little one

You just look up at the sky, and I'm sure you'll be alright

It'll be alright, eventually!

Stardust was moved to tears. She ran to Sky. "Please don't leave," she sobbed.

Sky felt bad. How could she leave her only daughter? Then she had an idea. "Why don't I stay the night?"

The next morning many tears were shed. "As soon as you leave I'm going to go live with Chase and Coral. I can't wait to meet Blackboots!"

"She'll love you." Sky began to tremble. "Not as much as I do, though." She began to cry again, which got Stardust all worked up. "S-Stardust, I love you and will always love you more than you can imagine."

Stardust was crying so hard, she was barely able to speak. "I'm going to miss you so much!"

"I know," Sky sobbed. "But I'll be watching you each and every day. I promise!" After one last very long nuzzle, Sky kissed Stardust on the forehead.

"Goodbye, Night Sky Remedious. I will never forget you." Stardust cried.

Sky smiled weakly. "Stardust Remedious, I will never forget you either."

And with that, glorious wings unfolded from's Sky's back and a stunning golden light appeared. She began her descent to heaven. As she floated upwards, she looked down at Stardust and yelled, "Goodbye! See you, eventually!" And that was it. Sky was gone.

Sky had her eyes closed the entire ride. When she opened them, she saw a place more wonderful than anything she could ever imagine. There was a beautiful golden entrance gate leading up to a huge castle. And waiting at the gate for her was none other than Jake. He was grinning from ear to ear. "You have no idea how long I've been waiting for this moment. C'mon, I'll show you around. First stop, Sakura!"
