"Sky lived an interesting life, and Stardust told everyone about t. Your great-aunt is a great storyteller." Blackboots concluded. "As of now, only few know the story, but my goal is to make it known to the world."
Andrieus jumped up. "What? It's over? That's it?!"
BLackboots nodded. "Well, at least for now. Our story isn't over till the world ends. Oh, did I mention this entire story, they lived in this very cave? That's why we're here today."
"Excellent storytelling, honey," Jason reached over and pecked Blackboots on the forehead.
"That's so sad! But at least it's happy that Sky got to say bye and everything worked out." Ren commented.
Blackboots nodded. "Aunt Stardust moved out a bit before you kids were born. Maybe tomorrow we can go visit."
"Is she still the same as she was then?"
Blackboots nodded. "She's about the same size as you all. But don't let size fool you. She acts her age."
"What about Grandma Coral and Grandpa Chase?" Sadie asked.
"They don't look much older than me," Blackboots told them. "They live nearby, next to Stardust."
"Well, I can answer other questions in the morning. It's very late. Let's get some sleep." She walked around, nuzzling each horse while humming the song.
As she went to lie in her spot, she softened her voice, and then stopped altogether. She could hear someone singing along with her outside. Everyone had fallen asleep except for Ren. "I'll be right back," Blackboots said.
She slipped outside as quietly as possible. There was a beautiful creature singing phenomenally. Only a few other people knew that song. Wait could it be- "Sky?!" Blackboots asked, surprised.
The creature transformed into a winged horse. She smiled and nodded. "Hello, granddaughter. It's been a while."
Blackboots gasped. It really was her! "Sky!" She rand towards Sky to nuzzle wit her, but she ran straight through her.
Sky giggled. "Sorry. I'm transparent."
Blackboots chuckled. "You've appeared at just the right time. I've just told my kids all about you."
Sky smiled. "Thank you, dear," she looked around. "I haven't been here in a while. Where I live is much better, but it feels strangely nice to be back. Everything is just like I remembered." She turned back to Blackboots. "Anyway, I'm here because I've just been promoted to a new job. I'm now a Guardian Angel, which means I get to watch over the mortals. I'm really happy, because that means I can come back yo visit Stardust, Chase and Coral, and even you."
Blackboots beamed. "That's amazing, Grandmother! I hope you'll come by and visit often. It would be a wonderful surprise for the children."
Sky glanced over the waterfall. "I remember this cave. Do you live here by yourself now?"
"Well, Chase, Coral and Stardust no longer live here; they live about a mile away. I live here with my mate, Jason, and my kids, Andrieus and Sandie. There's a stray girl named Rn staying the night with us, but I think I'll adopt her."
Sky winked. "You should. It'll be worth it."
Blackboots smiled. "It's settled, then!"
"I really better go now. Sweet dreams, Blackboots Remedious! I'll see you very soon."
BLackboots poked her head into the cave. "Ren?" she whispered softly. "You awake?"
Ren lifted her head. "Yes."
"Do you mind coming out here for a sec?"
"Sure," Ren said sleepily. She trudged outside.
"Did I wake you?" Blackboots cringed. "Sorry."
"No, no, I was... awake," Ren yawned.
"Sorry to bother you, but I need to ask you something."
Suddenly Ren seemed interested. "Yeah?"
Blackboots put on her best smile. "Would it be okay if... I adopted you?"
Ben's whole face lit up. "Are you kidding? YES!" She exclaimed and danced for joy.
"Shh!" Blackboots giggled quietly.
"Everyone's asleep, remember?"
Ren stopped and grinned sheepishly. "Oh yeah. Oops."
Blackboots smiled/ "C'mon, Ren Remedious. Let's get to bed. I have a feeling tomorrow will be an eventful day."
