........................................................."khubul hai (I Do)" said Pari.
"Khubul hai (I Do)" said Zeeshan.
Zeeshan Khan and Parizad Syed were getting married in the presence of family and friends. They both were seated in opposite side from each other with a thin transparent sheet of cloth inbetween them.
Men stood in one side with the groom seated and on the other side sat the bride with women surrounding her.The priest sat inbetween them to get them married.
Zeeshan had a huge smile on his face and was trying to see his bride across him. But his attempts were vain cause she had a vail on her face. But he heard her angelic voice which said she agrees to marry him.
Zeeshan was looking very handsome with his golden attire.Zeeshan was unaware of the sadness in Pari's voice. She was forced into this marriage by her father.
This marriage was nothing but a business arrangement between Kabir Khan, Zeeshan's father and Mustafa Syed, Pari's father.
'Family comes first' that was what they believed. And now that the two families were united the businesses were joined to make them stronger.Zeeshan was a little hesitant with the marriage at first but when he saw Pari he agreed and later became eager to get married.
But for Pari giving up her studies and leaving her family didn't feel that good. They both were to leave to Boston after getting married.
She loved her country India. She loved how different cultures co-existed together and she had many friends who celebrated eachother's festivals together.
She hated leaving everything behind and living with a man she had no idea about.
In a country were arrange marriage was common bollywood movies had created an illusion in the minds of the youth that there is someone so special you will fall in love with that special someone instantly and spend your lives happily ever after.Pari was no different. She grew up seeing Shahrukh Khan romancing his way into the girls heart. She wanted that to. She wanted to fall in love with someone madly and the guy would fight for her and prove to her that he truly loves her.
And oh how cool it would be to fight with her father to say that she only loves him and will kill herself for him.
Well that didn't happen and now here she was marring a complete stranger she knew nothing about.
She grew up seeing the women and men around her having a marriage in which they were comfortable with each other. And when a spouse dies the other one just marries someone else and moves on.
She always prayed someone would love her madly, that he would not only love her but forcefully claim her, be obsessed with her and be so possessive that he would beat the shit out of the people who would even look at her.
To her this fantasy her mother would tell her to stop watching movies and reading novels cause no one can love anyone like that in real life.
And now pari knew that her prayers were unanswered and she had to live a life that the other women live in her family.
Look beautiful and smile.
