~ Eleventh Chapter ~

Leah awkwardly sat up and stretched. She yawned and looked around the room. Taiga was not anywhere in sight. Frowning, got up out of bed and changed. She came to the door and received a cold handle. When she opened it, a small white ball of fur flew in her face.

"Happy birthday, Leah!" exclaimed Taiga with her fluffy voice.

Paws clung to her face. Leah had tried to move her from the face, but Taiga just bounced on her shoulder. She started jumping on her shoulders and head.

"Happy sixteenth birthday, sis!" smiled Rowen holding cake with number sixteen.

"Thank you." Leah said, and blew out the candles. "Where did cake come from?"

"Taiga helped me make it." Rowen said.

Leah felt something hard on her shoulders. Strands of purple hair fell on her face.

"You have to try it! It's great!" Taiga said, holding with hands and feet on Leah. "After all, I did it."

"Of course, of course." she giggled. "Can you get, please, off my back? Even though you look like it, you are not so light."

Taiga surprised sighed and jumped to the floor. She stood next to Rowen with a shocked look on her face.

"Do you want to say I'm fat?" she said acting angry.

"No... You just have heavy bones."

"Hmm..." said thoughtfully Taiga. "I will accept that answer."

Rowen and Leah are chuckled. Leah sat down with kitten Taiga to the table while Rowen went to cut the cake. The bell rang at the door. Rowen went to the door with the knife in her hands and opened it.

"G-Good morning..." stopped Mahiru looking at the knife. "I'm Mahiru Shirota, Leah's friend. Nice to meet you."

"Hey, Mahiru." smiled Rowen. "I'm Rowen, Leah's sister, come in."

"Why are you frightened, Mahiru?" Kuro said on his shoulder.

"She was holding the knife..." he whispered to Kuro as he walked into the kitchen.

"Oh, you do not have to be afraid of me." her sister smiled. "The one who you should be afraid is not home."

Mahiru sent Rowen a smile and took off his shoes. He skipped to the kitchen where sat Leah rolling Taiga on the table.

"Hey, Leah! Your boyfriend's here!" exclaimed Taiga and waved a tail.

"Shut up, ball of fur!" Eve hissed and poked Taiga in the belly on which she scratched her.

Leah got up and came to Mahiru. He smiled at her and from the pocket of his jacket pulled out a small black box.

"Happy birthday from me and Kuro." he said with red cheeks.

She opened a small black box with gray bow. Inside was a small leather bracelet with diamond bow. Her pink eyes shone as she pulled the bracelet out.

"Mahiru..." breathed Leah. "Thank you, very much. It's wonderful... But you did not have to buy anything."

She puffed her cheeks pretending to be mad while he was putting on a bracelet. He chuckled at her reaction. He shrugged his shoulders and put his hands in his jacket pockets.

"I know, but I wanted to give you a small token of appreciation."

"You could have kiss her!" Taiga grinned from the table lying on her back, wagging her tail tiger.
