Episode Seven, part 4:

T h e   G r e a t   E s c a p e

Back at Basilisk, Kodaik's nerves were beginning to get the better of him. Sol had been gone for 2 hours now, and The Decider for Nobel began at midnight. That left 5 hours in between. Her not showing up wasn't an option, and quite frankly it had never happen before in the entire history of the Clan.

Everyone was preparing for the ceremony; rituals taking place, the people getting ready for a night of celebrations, all unaware that one of the Sovereigns was no where to be found.

Kodiak had been pacing around the Sovereign's Quarters all evening. After news broke to Eryx about his missing daughter, he turned to him full of questions, knowing Kodiak would be the only one able to give him answers. He was never good under pressure, especially when it came to Eryx who played on his ability to intimidate him, and so the truth slipped out of him in an instant.

Not wanting to alarm the people of Basilisk, Eryx shielded them from the truth, allowing everything to continue for the build up to The Decider, but his anger was spilled out onto Kodiak.

When he was finally spared from the abuse of Eryx, Dreea made her way over to him, placing a radio into his hand.

"Whats this for?"

"I'm going to find Sol."

Kodiak sighed, pressing his palm to his temple in evident stress. "Dreea, you can't go. What if one of you doesn't make it back in time, or worse, both? Look, you can't leave me here alone with Eryx. At this rate, he'll probably kill me before The Decider even begins." He joked, yet the feeling of impending doom was weighing down on him.

"Look at it this way," Dreea began. "At least you won't have to worry about us making it back on time. When Eryx realizes that I'm not here, he'll be forced to postpone it until tomorrow."

"What if you don't find them?"

"Please," she muttered, "they might as well have left us a note of where they're going. With their lack of experience out there, we'll find them as soon as we catch up to them. The only problem would be if Riders find them first. I'll take one of the stallions to cut down on time."

Koda nodded, pocketing the radio as he followed his friend to the room's exit. "Good luck out there."

"I don't need-"

"Luck. I know, I know. But.. Stay safe."

- 9 miles east, Phoenix Grounds

There was a mumble - almost lost to the sounds of the night, but Wynnlow heard it somehow. He recognized that it was voices and in a panic, stood up, turning all around to catch a glimpse of who he could hear. Bas was still asleep not far from the fire, but the fear of the unknown made Wynnlow want to disrupt him.

The piercing of static sound stopped the voices, and a thought came to mind; Wynnlow scurried for his bag, spilling out it's contents all over the cave until he found what he was looking for. The radio he had packed was vibrating with sound, the familiar voices of Sol and Kodiak ringing through to him. He breathed a sigh of relief. Though it was partly because it meant that there wasn't anyone nearby that might have found him, a part of it was down to Wynnlow feeling less afraid now that he could hear her voice.

He held the radio close to his ear, eavesdropping in on the conversation.

"How far away are you from Riders?" Kodiak asked. A sickening feeling began to grow in Wynn's throat, a knowledge that Sol was on her way to find them, despite her duties to stay back at Basilisk.
