Captive

"How come he's here, V? What happened to him?! Do you know who did that to him?!"

Freya moved a bit. Nagising siya dahil sa malakas na pag-uusap ng nasa paligid niya. She wants to rip off their tongues for awakening her but she still feels so weak.

The voice sounds familiar to her that she slowly opened her eyes to check who is that parrot who keeps on whining.

"France!"

There, Hobi with worried look etched on his face, immediately sat down on the bed where she's lying and held her hand as he saw her awake.

"Are you okay? Do you need anything? Do you want me to bring you to the hospital? Tell me if you're in pain..."

Gusto niya itong barahin. How could this man threw her multiple questions when her brain is still in a mess.

"Shut up, Hobi. He's not dying," V said to him while intently looking at her. He has this the same expression again. Bored yet dangerous.

Dahan-dahan siyang bumangon. She can still feel the pain where she was stabbed.

Goodness! Until when she will suffer from this?

Mabilis niyang inalis ang pagkakahawak ni Hobi sa kamay niya. Even she feels so weak, she smirks at him trying to hide the pain the wound is giving her.

"Stop being a baby, dude. I won't die just because of this," she said in a hoarse voice. "I'm not a fool to die just because of a knife."

Napailing si Hobi at kapagkuwa'y mataman siya nitong tiningnan. He's not smiling and it feels different to see him not having his usual expression. His worried look is making her uncomfortable.

Tumaas tuloy bigla ang kanyang kilay dahil doon. Bakit ba mukhang alalang-alala ito sa kanya? They've just known each other yesterday and he acts like as if he's someone close to her.

Isa pa, she's not even acknowledging him as her friend but why does he act like one?

Magsasalita na sana si Hobi nang marinig nilang pareho ang pagmumura ni V.

"Damn, Hobi! I didn't f*cking call you here to act like a sick boyfriend of hers," ani V na kita ang pagkairita habang nakatingin kay Hobi.

Nanlaki ang mga mata ni Hobi. His worried look turned into shock and amazement. Nagpalipat-lipat ang tingin nito sa kanilang dalawa ni V.

"H-how...?" At hindi na nito itinuloy ang sasabihin. It's so obvious how V will know her secret.

Pero kumunot ang noo niya. How come V knows that Hobi knew her secret?

Tiningnan niya muli si V. At nagulat siyang nakatingin din ito sa kanya.

His bored gaze is piercing through her. As if she did something that offended him.

Lihim siyang napalunok. Kapagkuwa'y tinaasan niya ito ng kilay.

"What's your problem, devil?" She asked sarcastically, hiding the fear that slowly creeping her out.

Bakit gan'on ito makatingin sa kanya? It's way different on his bored look that he usually giving to her.

His expression is still the same but there's something in his eyes that making her nervous. As if in one wrong move, she'll be six feet under.

Instead of answering, V silently cursed and shifted his gaze to Hobi back now with his irritated look.

"Have you look into it? Any update on what I have asked you?"
